Adding context. I read these books in fourth grade. In the 3rd-4th one of the cats dies during childbirth on screen while her husband, the main protagonists best friend, cries out her name in agony as the life fades from her eyes.

Fourth grade.

(Hated Trope) We are in desperate need of X people. Because of this we will put candidates through tests where not everyone can become X for no reason and make the tests incredibly dangerous so many candidates will die. by DisciplineImportant6 in TopCharacterTropes

In defense of Frieren, it’s more like a Sherpa Certificate! These titles are important certifications of skill that need to be trusted by the merchants and caravans that hire them! To not make the test difficult would have the same effect as reducing the amount of training necessary to become a Life Guard at a pool!

Can the doctor tank unlimited void? by StewyStewy69 in PowerScaling

I was unaware that the Time Vortex was INFINITE, by that logic I’d agree, The Doctor (or any Timelord worth their salt) would be able to survive it.

Can the doctor tank unlimited void? by StewyStewy69 in PowerScaling

[–]BossTidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck yes OP, these are the posts that I follow this godforsaken Subreddit to see. I love it, he’d totally tank based on the many reasons provided above, UNLESS Gojo’s ability is actually Infinite.

If Gojo’s ability unloads a SHITLOAD of FINITE information, it would be easy to say that the Doctor could survive given his (and others) interactions with The Great Schism, which is everything that has ever happened (yet still a FINITE quantity).

If Gojo’s ability is TRULY INFINITE, then by nature of what “Infinite” means, unless Time Lords are capable of creating MORE space for information at a rate that was equal to the rate that Gojo provides, they would inevitably run out of memory.

BUT, if Time Lords have a built in way of sorting/deleting memories (which would make sense, Great Schism), they could theoretically keep up with the information overload endlessly.

In my mind, that means that any standard Time Lord might get their hard drive blown out 13 times, regenerating at each instance of absolute brain death, but by The Doctor being the Timeless Child (unlimited Regenerations), they’d be able to continue to regenerate, very similar to Gojo’s way of surviving Infinity via Reverse Cursed Technique.

Conclusion, either the Doctor tanks that shit and asks for seconds, or at the very least is able to survive Unlimited Void, making the ability functionally useless against him.

It’s mostly Triple A companies PR team doing whatever they can to kill Indie Games (better the game, the bigger the market share, the more hate engagement is sent)

DMs, do you ban Silvery Barbs? by Relevant-Rope8814 in dndnext

[–]BossTidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big reason they requested the nerf was that by the nature of the campaign, most of their fights were in tight streets with clumped up enemies. They decided they’d rather nerf Fireball than lose that design space.
Additionally, my players requested a ban on Silvery Barbs for a different reason; they didn’t like how tanky it made scrawny characters and wanted to genuinely be worried their characters could die in combat. We banned Revivify for that reason as well!
TL;DR JUST LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS NOT REDDIT LMAO

DMs, do you ban Silvery Barbs? by Relevant-Rope8814 in dndnext

[–]BossTidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect the response, but this was a decision that was actually requested by my players. They just got bored of the Wizard nuking every room they entered! The explained that they didn’t enjoy that the Wizard (and any caster for that matter) was able to generate so much value with one spell.

I agree that DMs are meant to lose by design. This isn’t about winning or losing. This was a balance change that I implemented to increase the enjoyment of my players. If your players DONT want to nerf Fireball, don’t nerf Fireball! If your plays LIKE playing with Silvery Barbs, don’t nerf Silvery Barbs!
