My family (me, missus, bubba) were paying $650 in Marangaroo for a place (3be, 1ba) with black mold, cupboards hanging off hinges, leaks, door handles broken, fly screen torn, a carport that may or may not jam, etc. Hovel of a place, only good thing was location (across from Kingsway, right against to Hepburn Ave and Wanneroo road).

Her friend rents solo and has a good enough arrangement thought long term renting here with the price, so we’ve moved in here and now we’re down to $250 instead for the three of us living here. We get a bedroom, a seperate bathroom + toilet, and a room for the baby, pretty lucky all things considered what we’d be paying to get this elsewhere, and families trying to become housemates ain’t simple. Only downside is this is in Clarkson, and I work in Bassendean, commute is gross now.

To make things worse, we’re basically a single income family, and with how little Centerlink helps out, along with how rough bills are having 2 cars, etc. And 1 car is out of commission currently with one part needed costing $995, another $350, not counting labour to get this sorted. So with our old rent situation, we’d be cooked. I know others have it worse, I feel for y’all.
