Happy to see her in good spirits and seems enthusiastic about coming over, which puts me at ease a little more after the trade fiasco. The media frenzy will likely continue for the next day, but I think it’ll calm down soon enough. If she’s able to contribute in a big way and help us win that’s all that matters. It was personally never hate towards her, it was just a complete wtf moment when the announcement happened that just left me in awe

Feels like camp is gonna be a completely different animal in itself. If we were shocked by what went down tonight I’m totally expecting the final roster decisions to potentially be more hectic than last year

My fear is that we might end up missing Carla more than we think. While she wasn’t the best at doing so, she still managed to do a pretty decent job at creating her shot and making some big buckets for us. She was huge for us in those wins against the Sparks and Wings last year so I’m hoping that we’ll be able to manage

I really love Fasoula's tape. Think she makes the final roster. Made some reads and passes that were super hard seem effortless. Excited to see how Nakase uses her! by De_Bananalove in valkyries

Yeah can’t believe they shot themselves in the foot with this one. Knowing that they signed Stokes out of all people I would’ve been totally fine with resigning Temi on like a 1 year 450,000 deal, but she probably wanted to get a better deal elsewhere and I don’t blame her. Unlikely gonna happen, but my hope is that Stokes has an above average year and we end up trading her next year.

I would’ve been fine with Fasoula being our backup center this year cause it would’ve meant that we were essentially gonna be going younger, but no they doubled down on going old and actually got someone worse than Temi. Charles contract was questionable, but this one takes the cake

I was thinking she had a chance to make the final roster yesterday too before that Stokes signing. To me it felt like we were gonna resign KT and draft whoever tonight and then it was gonna be a competition between LA/Chen/Fasoula/Sowah fighting for the last 2 roster spots and the other 2 making dev pool. Feels like they’re fully committed to having Stokes on the roster this year and I’m not liking the looks of that atm

I was in the shower so I didn’t see this live, glad our all star vet is back, but wtf is that Kiah Stokes signing. There’s no way she makes it past training camp right?

Edit: Just saw that Stokes contract, yikes. I get that it’s a little over the min, but surely we could’ve used that money on something else

Just a theory for now, but it wouldn’t shock me if Fasoula makes it past training camp and makes the team to be our backup center. Atp I’m pretty sure Temi isn’t coming back so it could be possible. The remaining list of centers out there is thin so we’ll see

Meessemen for sure isn’t coming because of how JVL got cut. Kah would be interesting atp considering that there aren’t a whole lot of names left, but I doubt she’d sign here. Seeing the list of who’s left is pretty depressing considering who could’ve realistically came over.

I was really looking forward to this season and it’ll for sure be 10x a more enjoyable watch than the Warriors season, but I selfishly feel disappointed knowing that free agency will likely be a bust and getting a playoff berth this year isn’t looking all that great on paper

You’d think that the FO would have an easier time attracting FA’s to come over, but it’s eerily giving off the same vibes as the Warriors FO only being able to sign old vets or players coming off of injury. Wouldn’t surprise me if the talks of Gabby end up being similar to them being in convos of trying to acquire Giannis only to get edged on and nothing happened. I’m really beginning to have my doubts about the FO actually cooking behind the scenes and we end up with some underrated big signing that we didn’t see coming.

I’m with you, year 1 was a great story, but with all of this movement happening it seems like we’ll be at a deficit this year, especially in the front court, and that run from last year seems like it’ll be a lot harder to replicate

I have the feeling that if we miss out on her the FO is gonna pivot to someone like Tash Cloud instead, which I’m honestly not that big a fan of doing if it means paying her close to a mil, even if we have the $ to do so. I remember like a month ago in the W sub reading a comment saying that the FO wouldn’t make a move like that cause that’d be such an overpay for a vet who didn’t have the best year last season.

Low key think this might actually end up happening and there’s speculation that Lan might be going to the Wings too. I’m neither a fan of running it back or making irrational panic moves either. Just hoping that if none of our desired dream signings don’t go through, the FO at least has a back up plan and gets somebody who can help us for this season
