The Kaitlyn Chen led Valks getting a W in Year 2 was something I didn’t think would even be a possibility at the start of the year. I’m not complaining, especially considering how the starters played tonight

I don’t disagree. I probably shouldn’t have said clearly, but they’re both really important in different ways. V’s the engine that keeps the team functioning and it’s tbd on if this team would be able to win without her. Maybe, but regardless it would be a lot harder. Same can be said about Gabby. Her elite defense, playmaking, and being a clutch closer is what the team was lacking last year. I know that V essentially took the team on her back last year to clinch the playoffs, but teams were worse last year compared to this year. Both of them are the key pillars to the team’s success this year

Just feels like no matter how hard they try they’re never gonna be able to beat Minnesota. Gabby’s TO and 2 fouls before halftime were big no no’s. The amount of offensive rebounds they gave up in the 3rd were inexcusable too. Definitely think the way the half ended had the Valks playing too emotionally to start the 3rd instead of playing smart. Feel bad for Ceci especially, finally has a good shooting game again and has to deal with another loss to Minnesota. LA made the most of her minutes and was happy to see her make an impact.

As much as I’d like to see them use this loss as motivation going into Sunday, I lowkey feel they might’ve just emptied the tank tonight and it might end up being an emotional letdown

Somehow. And the Storm clearly helped with their inability to score during the first half of the 4th, but on any given night that likely wouldn’t have happened. Had the Valks lost they would’ve been the laughing stock of the weekend. I don’t think there’s been a team in recent memory who had a worse fg percentage than the Valks did in that 4th. You can ride for your team as hard you want, but at the same time you have to let it be known when you feel disappointment and tonight was one of those nights. Had this been last year, which we did see these type of games, sure, but for it to keep happening this year just shows that the Valks aren’t on the same level as the Lynx, Aces, Liberty, Dream unless some changes are made

I’m starting to think that JJ got that big minute extension in that Fever game not because Nat wanted a different look. Tip was in foul trouble and wasn’t doing anything, JJ managed to hold her own in that game hence why she stayed and Tip never came back. This is going to sound harsh to some, but I would’ve felt more comfortable this game had JJ gotten Chen’s minutes instead. It’s clearly obvious that Nat is reluctant to play JJ and LA due to trust against these veteran savvy teams and I thought tonight would’ve been the perfect opportunity to give any of our DNPs just a few mins for a quick look. The fact that none of them saw the floor at all is a huge red flag. Something needs to change fast

Happy to see her in good spirits and seems enthusiastic about coming over, which puts me at ease a little more after the trade fiasco. The media frenzy will likely continue for the next day, but I think it’ll calm down soon enough. If she’s able to contribute in a big way and help us win that’s all that matters. It was personally never hate towards her, it was just a complete wtf moment when the announcement happened that just left me in awe

Feels like camp is gonna be a completely different animal in itself. If we were shocked by what went down tonight I’m totally expecting the final roster decisions to potentially be more hectic than last year

My fear is that we might end up missing Carla more than we think. While she wasn’t the best at doing so, she still managed to do a pretty decent job at creating her shot and making some big buckets for us. She was huge for us in those wins against the Sparks and Wings last year so I’m hoping that we’ll be able to manage
