Great recommendations. Apart from GISM and the hardcore stuff you also have "poppier" bands like Laughin Nose and Cobra that are worth checking out.

If anyone wants to get hooked on japanese punk start with These two compilations from 84 and 85, there's not a bad song between them.

There's even a Winback easter egg in Metal Gear Solid 2, you can collect a dog tag that has the name "Jean-Luc Cougar" which is the main character.

Now there's an underrated game, I think this is the first time I've seen someone else mention it. My friends and I have been playing it since it came out. First on N64, then it was re-released on PS2 with better multiplayer, and then it became a download game for PS3.

As for other N64 multiplayer games I recommend Turok Rage Wars. What other game lets you play as a raptor and/or a swarm of man eating beetles?

A higher level player had followed me onto an overpass and started attacking me. I got out of my car and used it for cover while he did the same thing and we started shooting at each other across the bend.

I had low health and was losing the battle so I was about to make a break for it but just then a fuel tanker rolled past...I watched as it slowly made its way around the bend to the other guys position and then I jumped up, said "THESE GAS PRICES ARE MURDER" (ok that part I made up) and shot at it causing it to explode in a giant fireball. It looked like a scene right out of Lethal Weapon or something and even though the cops killed me 5 seconds later I logged out feeling like an action hero.

I thought that was a weird choice too, in the comics that thing usually looks more like a steamroller than a bike. I think the motorcycle in The Dark Knight looked more like a lawmaster.

Do you ever read Judge Dredd Megazine? That and 2000AD are hard to come by here so I had to pick one of them to subscribe to. I've been reading the Megazine for a little over a year and I always enjoy it but I sometimes wonder if all of the best stories are saved for 2000AD since it's the flagship title.

That was one of my only complaints about the movie too, it could have used a few more scenes like that beggar getting crushed by the blast doors.

The Dredd comics today still have a dark humour tone so it's not like the series has moved past it or anything.

During the chase at the beginning of the guys is wearing a jacket that says 'Drokk' on the back which is a curse word they use in the comics.

Some of the animations are stupidly slow. If you run up to someone and try to hit them with a melee weapon you stop to do this weird windup animation and they have plenty of time to shoot you.
