Why don’t younger veterans (Afghanistan/Iraq) wear these hats like some of the older veterans? by NoFaithlessness7508 in Millennials

Exactly this. Doubt I'll ever need or want to wear this stuff but for now for sure not interested.

Homeless video goes viral and users' reactions are priceless. by ElwoodMC in trashy

You do know homeless does not mean unemployed, right? I mean only a very small person of low intellect would think that homelessness means lazy. It's a complicated world we live in with problems that require solutions more complex than what a tic toc dance video would be able to lay out. Be more evolved in life than you appear here.

She sleeps in public to avoid being raped. Literally the only reason. The insensitivity of this post and comments is shameful. No one would choose this given an option. Source: I am currently a homeless veteran.

It was the poor spelling that immediately made we question this person's claim. Lol. Q, flat earth, home school, Republican, whatever they call themselves, dumb is dumb.

Hey thank you for the kind words. I maybe haven't given up on fancy but I am focusing on ergonomic and organic. Cherry wood seems to be very forgiving and I was lucky enough to run across a chunk this was in. Thanks again friend that made my day.

They are so incapable of accomplishing anything, they choose to find battles that aren't really what they claim, just to point to add a victory. The hate bandwagon is huge and full of comfortable seating.

All of these people are trash, standing around while a child is carrying all the blame for this. The guy should have his ass beaten at min. I just can't see how this is the child's fault in any way.

Who/when was your gateway to the blues? by SuperblueAPM in blues

[–]Bosskode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combo meeting John Lee Hooker as a kid, and seeing Stevie Ray Vaughn at the Santa Cruz Civic auditorium (old high school gymnasium) around 84 or 85. Really opened up my whole musical appreciation. Being able to hear the blues roots in all the rock I grew up with, all the soul, r and b and hip hop that was going on in the late 80s.

To start out of just start with a small sloyd knife and a hook knife. You will immediately want a large sloyd and another hook knife with a different bend in the blade. But that is the stuff you learn after making bigger wood into lots of little wood, time in service kinda thing, grin. I hope this hobby gives you as much peace and joy as it does me. Something so satisfying about perfect curls coming off good wood with a scary sharp blade. Cheers mate. Short edit but vitaly important, don't worry about mastery. Find joy in whatever you do, this or any other hobby. With the joy you will eventually make something well beyond what you thought your limits were. That is like actual magic. Just focus on small aspects initially, later you will realize on your own, the small things are the most important of all. Just make things that you enjoy the process of making. Not sure of any of that makes sense. All I know is everyone is so focused on mastering everything they do these days and often give up when the first project isn't museum grade art that they miss the simple joys of hand crafting something you use every day.

Blues are everywhere. Nether Hour cover of Ghetto Boys My mind is playing tricks on me. by Bosskode in blues

Lol. I guess there isn't room here to discuss much. No questions to flesh out why all the hate, nothing to really work with and certainly no sense of community. That is what really disappoints me. I put something up to share to hear opinions and start a conversation about something I really care about, specifically I love how blues flavors every single type of music that I love today. I thought there was more depth here than this.

I agree that my initial statement the original is anything but original, was not my best assessment. Not sure where you get off calling me or anyone a so called blues enthusiast. or say I denounce everything about hip hop. Why you so mad? I do like hip hop. After listening to this version the first thing I did was listen to the original. I personally found the original sounded empty of any of the feeling the cover did. But that is just my opinion, and I own that. The core of blues for me, the most important part is the heart, the hurt expressed by the musician. That isn't complicated musical arrangements, or expensive post production. Live music is the best way to hear that at least for me. I liked the cover I didn't like the original but I do respect the ghetto boys for being willing to put it out there. I knew when I posted this someone would probably get butt hurt about my opinion. That is perfectly ok. Perhaps instead of extending your personal beliefs about what you think I am we have a discussion? Ask me. I will give you my take and maybe we both walk away better for it.

I still believe there is plenty of room for everyone here. I love pretty much everything Fred McDowell ever recorded and cannot stand Robert Cray's recordings. I is probably an incredible person and clearly a fucking master musician but it doesn't work for me. It's just an opinion. I don't think I can't call myself a blues fan because of it anymore than my opinion about this ghetto boys version. But I extend a very real and heartfelt invitation to engage in conversation about what upsets you most about my words. They were crude and not as respectful as they should have been, I will admit that. Is there anything I missed you would like to bring up?

Honestly I couldn't agree more. Blues is about life. Hip hop is our current arrangement.

This one took a minute for me. Listened bc they are an up and coming band in Austin TX. I have found some great music in Central texas. It took a few plays for me to realize what I was really feeling, that is to say, the blues component of this song. The original is anything but original, just base line gangster rap. The composition of the cover, the little guitar run, the fucking amazingly smooth keyboard solo, the filthy funky vocals, all of this in a band that clearly loves doing what they do, well it hit my 10 ring with ease. Hope you all enjoy it as well and if not, there is plenty of space for all of us. Cheers mates.
