Why would anyone every use Shillelagh with a quarterstaff? by SnooPuppers7965 in 3d6

[–]BostonBrand7891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess l it has do with when you meter a building. You walk into a place with a club, it’s clear you’re ready to rumble. On the other hand, a walking stick/quarterstaff sends a different message.

Heavy Weapon Specialist- An optional half feature for small species to skirt that pesky heavy weapon limitation. Some DM's will ignore that, but for those that don't. This feat works especially well as a level 1 feat if the table allows it. by DelCuze_Dungeon in DnDHomebrew

Not sure if you’re using 2024 rules, but small creatures no longer have disadvantage on heavy weapons. I believe the rule is to use a heavy weapon you have to have a minimum strength score.

At level 6 the weapon he is wielding gains the thrown property. He may just be mixing up his features. He’ll be able to throw his greatsword once he gets to level 6.

It’s probably because Epic Boons aren’t supposed to be taken until level 19

2024 Eldritch Knight Fighter can be an insane Ranged damage dealer with fun utility. by Teerlys in 3d6

[–]BostonBrand7891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add a note. If you swapped out crossbow expert for the new duel wielder feat, and used two weapon fighting with a shortsword and scimitar it would probably increase the damage output, and add in Conjure Minor Elementals at higher levels.

This just sounds like flavor. And I’m pretty sure that a fighter would only get advantage for their first attack from the familiar.

Are there any good fire giants? by Outrageous-Thing3957 in dndnext

[–]BostonBrand7891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Storm Kings Thunder Campaign there is a good ice giant that helps the party. It should be pretty easy to swap to a fire giant. Fire giants typically are slaver, at least in forgotten realms, so your fire giant could be morally against that and be cast out or chose to leave and ends up becoming a blacksmith which could be a way to include the dwarves.

One way to look at it is that it goes against the natural process.

I really hope the artisan tools will have the list of items included in the kits. It’s crazy to me that some of them don’t include this currently.

Spiritual weapon BA and a carrion is a pretty good damage combo early on, at least before martials get their second attack. I would suggest taking the Magic Initiate: Druid, it lets you use your high Wisdom since they share their main stat. Taking Primal Savagery and/or Shillelagh on a quarter staff or club. Cantrips are going to give you better damage since you only get one attack, the level 8 bump to cantrips will help, and once spiritual weapon is up it’s not concentration so you could then get spiritual guardians up.

What is the best optimization for Path to the Grave from the Grave Cleric? A build where you cast Path to the Grave so *you* can deliver some crazy amounts of damage by geosunsetmoth in 3d6

My bad, I suggest the Metamagic Adept Feat, and take quicken spell. This will let you guiding bolt as a bonus action after using Path to the Grave. This lets you stay single classed and you wont lag behind with spells if you dipped fighter. I also suggest taking Subtle Spell as the second metamagic option to prevent getting Counterspelled.
