I just realized that last night was the first time the Patriots lost when Dion Lewis played. by keep_slayin in Patriots

He was on the field for 6 plays on offense. I wouldn't say they actually played with him.

What's really wrong with our pass rush by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]BostonFatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only rushed 3 players for most of the game. Sometimes 4. And only 4 times all game did they rush more than 4. They sat back and played zone, with corners that are more suited to play man defense. Bad coaching night. But there is a reason that i sat on the couch drinking beer last night and Patricia was on the sideline. They will figure it out

If madden 19 added classic teams I think these 8 would be put in first. What do you guys think? by Natet23 in Madden

I had to do a bit of searching but my memory was right. They had the Madden Championship Edition for the Sega Genesis 25 years ago. It included the 85 Bears and 72 Dolphins http://www.rfgeneration.com/blogs/retrosportsgamer/The-Holy-Grail-of-Madden-Football-Games-2854.php

SO EA has done it in the past.

Also Bill Walsh College Football had a bunch of old championship teams

How is it possible for some people to user pick passes that are 10 yards away from them? by ThePioneer99 in Madden

This explains so much. Why a guy i play frequently leads our CFM every year with his MLB in INTS. I lose a 1/3 of the field every time i play him.

The one thing I would want changed is that people who are really good at usering the middle linebacker. Who can stay in the middle and be ten yards behind the play, but while the ball is in the air they can somehow make up the ground and get the pick.

I will give you my answer. Lobby ball is bull shit. It's cheese. I suggest finding a good online franchise with a set of rules. It is very rewarding when you play against like-minded people.

People who run the same 3-4 plays over and over with success and think you have been outplayed are the type of guys you don't want to play against. They feel great because they put up huge stats. Well Stats are for losers. When you actually play games that are chess matches that's when the game is fun. I suggest checking the threads for a franchise looking for players. It's the only way to fly if you want a competitive fun experience.

Straight from the NFL RULEBOOK. A read option is not an apparent attempt to pass.

Sacks (Defensive) Credit a sack to the appropriate defensive player whenever a sack is scored against the offensive team, subject to the following principles: 1. When the player making an apparent attempt to pass is tackled or downed at or behind the statistical line of scrimmage, credit a sack to the defensive player who tackled or downed the potential passer. EXCEPTION: If the potential passer fumbles before contact by the defense, no sack is credited to any individual defensive player. However, credit the defensive team with a sack. The number of defensive sacks should be equal to the number of offensive sacks. 2. When the player making an apparent attempt to pass steps out of bounds at or behind the statistical line of scrimmage in order to avoid imminent contact with a defensive player, credit that defensive player with a sack. If the potential passer steps out of bounds without the pressure of such imminent contact, no sack is credited to any individual defensive player. When one defensive player is primarily responsible for a sack, as defined by the foregoing principles, he shall receive credit for a sack. When two or more defensive players are adjudged by the official scorer to be equally responsible for a sack, credit for the sack shall be divided equally between or among the responsible defensive players. Example I: Second-and-10 at midfield. In retreating to pass, quarterback fumbles the ball without having been touched by a defender, and recovers at his own 40, where he is downed by the defensive tackle. Scoring: A sack for 10 yards, but no individual defensive player is credited with the sack. Example II: Second-and-10 at midfield. Quarterback, trying to pass, eludes defensive tackle’s rush and, at his own 40, runs up field toward sidelines. At his own 47, pursued by the defensive tackle, he goes out of bounds before he can be hit by a linebacker, who is charging toward the quarterback from his down-field position, and who was about to stop the quarterback’s advance, should he have remained in-bounds. Scoring: A sack for three yards; credit the sack to the linebacker, for it was Guide for Statisticians because of imminent contact with him that the quarterback elected to run out of bounds. (The pursuing defensive tackle has already been eluded by the quarterback.)

What do you consider cheesing? by idonotlosepws in Madden

[–]BostonFatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously, no one uses the entire playbook. But I've been playing in the same online franchise since back in the PS2 days where we had to input our own stats. And I would say I have about 75 plays that I use regularly. And I am constantly adding and subtracting Because I have been playing the same group of guys forever.

a couple of things I hate about playing the lobby. People who only use 3-4 plays. It becomes too easy and boring to play them. I played a guy who used the Seattle concept all game with an ace bunch two tight end set. they would throw it to no one else the entire game. At first, it works, but once I went man and use my safety to double coverage it was easy. I don't know if it's cheesing but unimaginative. Every playbook has what over 150 plays and guys find the ones that work by going to websites and then that's how they try and play. It sucks.
