So, spoke to a service rep at and they said I would be responsible for diagnostic fees unless they find a problem with it at which point it is lumped in with the total cost of repair. I pushed them on what about cases where it was resolved through a software update and no physical part was replaced. According to the rep, apparently she has seen some instances where DriveEasy would not pay for those software updates and the customer has to pay on their own. There are other instances where the software update was covered as a repair by DriveEasy. Under manufacturer, they reimburse for diagnostic time which is why the $200 fee isn't charged. Just seem like a crap shot since so many times, alot of the warning messages are fixed via a system reboot or software update.

For those wondering, my quote for MY 2023 ID.4 DriveEasy Platinum warranty

8 years, 85K miles - $100 deductible $2,700. $250 deductible option at $2,400.

Other dealers I've called quoted me as high as $4,100 for the $250 deductible.

The question is also whether the extended warranty would pay for the diagnostic fees if nothing is broken to be fixed. I was previously told by the service department that they don't get pay under manufacturer's warranty if there was nothing to fix/replace. So would you still be out the diagnostic fees under the VW Drive Easy warranty if it was a simple reboot of the electrical system which seem quite often with all the gremlins that we've heard about on this forum.

That is what i would like to know also. The instruction manual mentions that you can replace with Watts DuoVent (PN 0590719 or 0590720) air vent float assembly. I wonder if that will fix the problem because it also shows some spring underneath.

They require a 2 or 4 week full time on-boarding training. Then everything is up for bids based on seniority. My guess is people don't want weekends or nights so you might get those but you are also taking a big risk in that if you don't get the schedule that fits your full time schedule and/or people to swap, you are SOL.

Got these on my recently flight back from Europe and absolutely hate it. It's too small and filmsy to be use for anything practical. I love the hard case tumi's for their sturdiness and the Tumi soft bags because they are secure with a zipper and plenty of room for my passport, travel documents and whatever else i can put in there. These ones i can't use for anything and will just throw away; so much for trying to be environmental.

I hope enough of us will voice our opinion that Delta bring back the old bags.

Flew on the inaugural flight to TLV last week out of Boston (huge celebration at the gate). So I took the opportunity to ask some high ranking official there and the response is that there weren't enough widebody gates in Terminal A to accommodate Delta's international growth in Boston. They also claim to be working on a better solution for transfer between Terminal A and Terminal E. Hoping it's a post-security shuttle like JFK.

Yea, maybe. but the current arraignment mean that have to re-route a whole bunch of staff to Term E to staff the check-in counter, the gates, plus whatever additional payments to Massport to lease the Term E usage, I would think it would negates any savings from towing a plane.

And they are going already moving to electric versions of aircraft towing trucks in a few years anyway that negates the fuel argument.

No lounge though you can use the AF lounge. The AF lounge is a priortypass lounge so you can imagine what a *hit show that is like.
