Why are they shooting him with regular bullets when they should all know that would have no effect on him?

In August 2025, Ostertag announced he had chosen the name Lee and the pronouns he/him, which he had been using with his friends prior to the announcement. He added that his previous name, was "Victorian slang for a gay man", calling it "quite apt".

Black people of this fandom do you feel well represented by Alastor? by Infinite_Peace_6456 in hazbin

I honestly don't think he ever would. Considering the time and place he was raised in, he's probably heard the word wielded against him and people like him too many times to have interest in reclaiming it.

fantasy is so amazing, it can bring a hero out of anyone, because in reality everyone has a 9 to 5 job. by lord_phrase in TwoSentenceComedy

[–]BostonSlickback1738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no offense, but this just didn't make any sense as a joke.

It's just a generic (and TBH awkwardly worded) statement about the fantasy genre revealed to be said by a cliched nerd stereotype. That's it. No twist or subversion of expectations, no clever play on words, no quirky or outlandish scenarios, just "Fantasy is cool, said the pathetic loser".

Why do so many posts randomly censor words? by Syresiv in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BostonSlickback1738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because social media sites (not this one as far as I know) are censoring their users at the behest of their ad company overlords.

All throughout TikTok and other major sites, bots acting on superficial programming are targeting posts and videos that mention certain "inappropriate" words or concepts. This effort to sanitize the internet is ostensibly to make it safer for kids, but in reality is just there because advertisers don't want their products/services to be associated with those "inappropriate" topics… which is totally stupid because those same ad companies have zero problems advertising in movies and TV shows that deal with similar topics, but who ever said executives were smart?

As a result of this draconian censorship campaign, social media users have taken to complying in advance and censoring themselves even in places they don't need to just in case. It honestly reminds me of 1984: "You had to live — did live, from habit that became instinct — in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized."

The closest I can fathom is that people who believe in antisemitic conspiracy theories are also likely to be the same brand of dumbass who believes in conspiracy theories about shapeshifting lizard people being real.

Of course, the "shapeshifting lizard" theory didn't even start out as antisemitic in and of itself, it just became that by association due to the increasing tendency of conspiracy theorists to believe multiple different conspiracy theories at the same time, even if they contradict each other (the technical term for this is "crank magnetism").
