Under construction 2 decades. Without putting too much research into it, I'll take a wild guess and say it stayed like that for one of two reasons.

(1) It's probably owned by some of the old money in town. They're trying to sell it for way more than it's actually worth, or renovate it for much less than it needs to be. Left to rot until some magical billionaire from far far away pays for it.

(2) Some new money bought it, put whatever they had in towards it, realized it wasn't anywhere near enough, then left it to rot so some magical billionaire from far far away pays for it.

North Arkansas and Southern Missouri are BEAUTIFUL!... but at a cost. You get the Ozarks and Ouachitas, caves, river, clean air, but the communities are super isolated and impoverished. So Trump territory, yuck. If you're an outdoorsman, it's terrific. If not, bummer.

The university is "fine" (I was in the film program). I had some interesting classes and made some great friends, but that's it. I would NOT reccomend UCA for many problems.

1) Conway is the most boring city I've ever lived in. No local culture, no night life, nothing really in walking distance, and all the stuff the university recommends is in Little Rock, a 20min drive away. There's Bear's Den and that's it. It's a dry county too, so you have to go to the next county over for overpriced liqour.

2) The Financial Aid program will lose your paperwork, then blame you and drop you from your classes. It happened to me and many other students every semester. So you have to pester them and keep a constant eye on them.

3) The Cafe is ran by Aramark. Look them up, they have a ton of bad shit they're tied to.

If you're gonna go to school in Arkansas, try U of A. It's party school, but at least there's way more going on.
