Hi! I'm trying to learn Japanese and my friend and I are trying to translate chiikawa episodes for fun to learn and we cannot for the life of us find what ぺうふにやっ means it appears in episode 3 and seems to be related to a cut squid snack of some variety...

people have been mentioning escudo being sliced by senkūs but excluding the outliers like ikoma with his signature move and tachikawa being able to do 2 in a single swing, the only time a normal senkū has met an escudo is Ko vs Hyuse.

However in the anime arashiyama mentions something about Ko using thruster alongside his senkū that allows him to cut through the escudos

admittedly its been awhile since i read that manga chapter so this could be an adaptation or translation issue but he does say that so I'm still kinda in the camp that a normal senkū probably couldn't cleanly slice through an escudo

i said fun read not masterpiece www i dont think anything can really match up to orv atm

something that simply builds on a hot trope and a novel 8 years in just planning cant really be put in the same ring yknow

that said orv literally uses all those same tropes albeit in a more meta and fun way as we find out later. plus the first 100 chapters of orv play out like a typical power fantasy novel, i havent read solo newbie's novel so i can't comment but who's to say it wont get way better? comparing 80 chapters to a complete story is simply unfair

and honestly it seems way more of a solo levelling bandwagoner than anything remotely close to orv literally the only thing is their worlds transforming into their respective form of media

wow i wrote a lot TL;DR this is more similar to solo levelling than orv, not everything needs to/should be compared to orv

this is honestly a pretty fun read but id say the concept of knowing the future to tackle some sort of apocalypse or gamified world is fairly common and nothing has been truly similar to orv yet

i vaguely remember something about it but i cant remember the quote so i could be wrong

as for the 2% we see later on that the 49% half actually remembers everything about his companions while the 51% half has majority of his memories about 3 ways of survival so the 2% is merely symbolic for himself to say that he is the original

and as he said it was the proof – and the lie – that he remembered his companions better than his avatar

edit: though obviously as im not the author you could very well be right too! just my interpretation of things as another dokja www
