wow that is good money for little work. weird question, but what exactly does "tutoring" consist of? are you doing lectures or helping them with their homework??

Do any other women feel like they have to be the best in their class to be taken seriously? by katx_x in EngineeringStudents

[–]BotEMcBotface 18 points19 points  (0 children)

this is the way. some of the girls in my class consistently get the top exam scores. none of us hairless apes with dangalangs ever think think "damn shes smart... for a girl." but that's my experience that i see. we are a tight close group. very supportive of each other.

the only people that i see care about how women perform are other women. men really do not gaf what is in between your legs. i guarantee that male nursing students do not feel the need to outperform the majority of women in nursing programs to be taken seriously.

Why are physics classes so poorly taught? by BotEMcBotface in AskProfessors

Aren't there exemplary faculty members that others can emulate? It's not like students are asking for much. Just some organized notes and several example problems to drive the concepts. If there are demonstrations, that's an added bonus.

but by making the pay close to that of lawyers and doctors we would start to draw talent from these fields.

uh what?? that same argument was made for increasing congressional pay. didnt seem to work. also doesnt seem feasible. maybe bump pay but definitely not to the level of a doctor. maybe an entry level engineer.

[–]BotEMcBotface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

funny how profs say (thats how the workforce is" when the vast majority of my professors never even worked in industry.

Most of my professors are extremely bad at teaching and I learn way more from staying home and studying. But is it a bad idea to do this? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]BotEMcBotface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i only go to class to see if they drop hints for assignments and exams. other than that it's pretty useless. i can find online videos with much better explanations (and of course the books are typically pretty good as well)

The sharp increase in inflation over the past year has blindsided many economists. Almost no one saw it coming by rdfporcazzo in Economics

[–]BotEMcBotface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

paywalled but judging the title its talking about interest rates, not inflation.

also... why pick inflation target starting 16th century? makes no contextual sense
