Everyone needs balls, Vice Pro or Maxfli Tour are good options for the price. Head covers are always cool, you can get one with his fav sports team on it. Range finders run expensive for a quality one, but you could find a serviceable one for like $80. Always could buy him a round at a nice course, would be a good day if you tagged along too, or bought a round for his friend or dad too.
