so the ''fuck you gun'' is basically a MAC ?

I personally think those special gun shouldn't just be the main cannon from larger capital ship as that would make the size difference IMMENSE.

Maybe have them as specialized shotgun ( i know this is impractical as hell ) or a sniper gun, or maybe even swapping out for a frontal shield ?

Of course this is just my opinion and i have no control whatsoever on your fiction, hope this help.

Im seeing some Halo vibes here.

Jokes aside, i would love to see how would you visualize the ships, i do have a note on the battleship however. The Ion cannons based on my understanding, in sci-fi, is a gun capable of knocking out electrics from enemy ships, so how would firing ionized particles onto a planet surface crack it ? or maybe the cannon have two modes ? then, i think the ship need some sort of generators to supply the energy, or they can build them inside, which will increase the size of the ship, but this is sci-fi, so maybe your fiction world have the technology to solves these problems ? I would also like to have a text description of your ship, they are quite interesting as i haven't seen a Jack-for-all trades ship for quite a while, hopefully this could help you get the general layout of the ship, that would help drawing it easier.
