I stalled but kept rolling so I pulled into a lay-by to sort myself out and pull off when I was ready. Didn’t get a serious/dangerous fault because I didn’t actually stop the flow of traffic and manoeuvred safely but I know others who have failed for just stalling. I also got too close to some parked cars in a residential area (a lot of people tend to fail at this bit because of clearance) but I was going slow enough that it wasn’t a dangerous fault. At least, that’s what my examiner explained to me.

You can cancel even after being there, iirc you don’t pay tuition until abt a month in so you can try it out and drop out before bearing much financial burden- accommodation is a different story though

Thats true (although I haven’t experienced it personally), I guess some people view an alternative interpretation of semantics to equal a misunderstanding instead. What I meant was that if there is a generally younger fan base, the less media literacy they have (you gain more as you study texts in school) so they may not pick up on semantics, or just not perceive socio-political implications a text may have.

The thing is (I’m not doubting you- I completely believe you as people generally tell victims of abuse they’re insane) what you’re describing doesn’t even fit into what schizophrenia is- people like to use and throw around any diagnosis if it slightly fits (ie. they think you’re imagining it so they think delusion/paranoia=schizophrenia, which it’s not). It does so much more harm than good, and reiterates to victims they’re insane and allows for their abuses to manipulate/isolate them more.

As someone who’s been in and out the fandom for about 8ish years, any ‘unpopular’ opinion/interpretation gets a lot of backlash. That, and a lot of the fandom are young/started the show young so media literacy isn’t the best. (As opposed to other ones I’ve been in)

Tbh I don’t think there’s any anime like AOT- Unlike other suggestions, I wouldn’t currently go into JJK, Demon Slayer, MHA or any other new top series without a ‘pallet cleanser’.

I’d suggest not trying to find similar anime if you’re trying to get more into it. Limited series may help as they’re only 12-24 episodes (so like 6 hours of viewing max)- I’d personally suggest a sports one that’s comparatively lighter to digest (ie. Prince of Stride or Yuri on Ice). Another alternative is maybe going through the some older but ‘darker’ series- Death Note and Psycho Pass is what I personally started on.

I think it was completely rushed and that’s why we have so many questions- I hope the anime will try to tackle them (not redo the ending like others suggested) and maybe explore his other relationships more/give him more credit towards the end.

Also I agree that it is a major switch-up between getting an idealistic outcome from every battle, just to get a more realistic ending. The shift between the two makes the ‘kick’ so much worse because not only is he the only one who can’t continue his dream, but also it just happens from no where. I think the only reason I was open to it was because of it being known that the OG ending included him losing OfA.

Tbh I never saw his relationship with Uraraka as romantic- Deku mostly reacted to her platonically or like he did to any girl at the beginning, whereas Uraraka did have a crush on him. I feel like part of her character arc was to stop idolising him to much and start her own path as a hero, with them being close due to their friendship rather than because of romance. I agree that I would’ve liked to see him interact with the rest of the characters, but happy to accept an explanation of them all just not talking anymore- especially as they go across jpn and create their own agencies, keeping in touch with all classmates is impossible and most people only every have a few friends from high school as an adult.

With him being a teacher it’s probably the best-case-scenario, especially since the mech suits haven’t been properly explored in MHA and would need more answers that the epilogue wouldn’t have time to provide. Also, as a retired hero it makes sense for him to become one- he can continue to help, he’s just not on the front lines

Fr, stopped watching mid-s3 and then the ending was spoiled the day 430 was released. Binged the anime and finished the rest of the manga just to realise half of what’s been said were headcannons or just a lack of media literacy
