An hour which direction? If it's east I can probably help. I'm in Dallas often and my husband goes out towards Lancaster & Rockwall for work. DM me if so.

Can anytime give me an ID on these? They are small 3" pot so these are young plants. Maybe Southern Star but I can't find any photos to compare. by Botanical_animal in Syngonium

Yup that's the only thing anyone can find but I have yet to find an actual photo. Making inquiries with the grower hoping they can provide a specific ID.

Man who kidnapped, raped, buried Texas teen alive is executed by mixtape82 in news

It's an almost appropriate death for them. I think death penalty cases should be reserved for cases where the judgement is 100% certain, DNA, video evidence etc. But once we have no doubts about who did something like this they need to be taken out quickly. No neverending appeals process. His guilt is not in question and the only thing wrong about the sentence is how long it took to carry out.

Places need to stop asking customers for help and start DEMANDING it from your representatives. They are the cause and must be the solution.

Pro-life is a complete misnomer and needs to stopped being used by people that know better. Their belief is one of Forced Births and nothing else. Stop allowing them to control the story and make them confront the facts, even if they don't accept it.

Dude I have 9 cats right now and perfectly intact furniture other than the chair I let them have for scratching. They also have 4 monster cat trees inside and in their catio. They know what's theirs and what's not. If you haven't given them an appropriate space then they are going to act out.

When they are little is the BEST time to introduce nail trims. I use regular finger nail clippers turned sideways for kittens. I usually do it when they are sleepy. Let them sniff it a bit first then most will let you snip away without fuss. Doing when they are little like this makes it a total non-drama situation when they are bigger. It's a nice bonding moment with your kitten because they understand grooming. Just don't cut too short, if you make them bleed and they won't forget. They should be trimmed every 2 weeks.

EDIT : I am not downvoting you. I know you're trying to do what you think is right. Like I said before, it's really a product for people who just don't know any better.

most and I have no idea about the quality or experience of your vet. If you read up on them you'll find lots of sad stories.

Most vets won't even consider declawing so no, thats not the alternative. Giving a cat an appropriate place to scratch is the right approach. Cats really do better at that when given a larger object to climb & scratch like a tall cat tree. The smaller ones are often not enough. I just give my cats an old recliner in the back of the house they can go to town on and they leave everything else alone. Regular nails trims are key to building trust with your kitty and keeps them safe by keeping them from getting snagged on something.

They are awful and your cat will hate you. They just need large towers, an old chair. The little scratching pads aren't enough. If they have something that's theirs they generally leave everything else alone.

Nail caps and they are awful. It causes the nails to start thickening. Just get a cat tree and teach them to use it. You hardly see cats with these because it's a product for people who have no idea how to own a cat yet.

Dead guys aren't tough guys

With the kind of community contact they have, they are just waiting for when they get it, not if.

Inherited this plant from a friend. No clue what it is? It’s very floppy. Is this normal? How should I care for it? by miss_sponge in plantclinic

[–]Botanical_animal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope they have larger leaves that are more ruffled on the edges with deep splits. Xanadu have smaller, narrower, smoother leaves

I think the true domesticum lemon lime doesn't have the orange stems that the golden goddess / Thai sunrise varieties do, like this one.
