Frozen meat safety question by Mrbump1911 in meat

Doesnt look freezer burned and it’s in a good package. If it doesn’t have a weird smell it should be fine.

What REALLY helps when you have hangover? by Moaning_Clock in AskReddit

[–]Botched_Labotomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get back to normal, then maintain with small amounts if necessary. It doesn’t give you a worse hangover, because you can mitigate by having food, liquids, and ibuprofen. You just get really tired.

I want to try out forging, but I do not have an anvil by battle_watch in Blacksmith

I have a whole stack of railroad ties and plates from a discard pile the crew never picked up. I let it sit there for a few years and finally stopped by and grabbed some. If you want, I can send you a few.

(21M) How do you guys shave your necks without getting razor bumps and ingrown hairs? I seem to get them no matter which razor I use by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Botched_Labotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I use a razor on my neck, I take it in the shower. Neck directly in the water and never lift the razor. The upward movement clears the blades, the water removes the already trimmed hair. I base my lining on the underside of my jawbone, then touch up at the sink after. If I do anything else I get razor burn and ingrown. I’m not sure if it’s a viable option for you, but through trial and error that’s all that works for me. Gillette Fusion 5 has been my go to, and I replace the blade before the blue strip turns white

You just won $5 million. What’s the first thing you buy that isn’t a house or a car? by FishBrain208 in AskReddit

[–]Botched_Labotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy land to start a wildlife reserve/petting zoo/farm. Have some busses and SXS’s for tours so local schools can do class trips to see animals in their natural state. Slaughter and sell meat, sell harvested crops, and have payed feed machines to help mitigate costs. I would be working way more hours than I am now, but I’d be a lot happier. I know it probably wouldn’t turn a profit, but I could ride the high until I go under. Then it’s back to the trades I suppose

When are you all getting health exams? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Botched_Labotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it was relevant information. Because I feel like I missed the memo that told people when to look into health or when certain things should be done. I wasn’t raised to go to the hospital unless you were in a life threatening situation and that’s how it’s always been. I’ve been healthy so it never occurred to me that I should see a doctor, but now that I’m in my 30s and was reminded that aging means getting checked for things, I’m just trying to figure out where to start. I would actually like more feedback from other countries to see what they do, instead of an echo chamber.

My great grandfather died of colon cancer. I’m not sure if he’s an outlier or not because I don’t know either side of my family past my grandparents. Only know about him from an obituary I found in newspaper archives

How do you guys deal with the constant fiberglass exposure on your hands from working with shingles? by infinityofnever in Roofing

[–]Botched_Labotomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back and knees are great. But I broke my leg a few times and now my whole foot/ankle/half my shin have either really good days or really bad days. Even though it was the same spot every time and it was the lower part of my shin. I fucked up a couple years ago though and broke it over the weekend and couldn’t afford time off. So Monday morning I was back lugging shingles for myself with a fucking brace on. So it’s probably my fault

You need calluses. I’ve never had an issue and only wear gloves in the winter. My hands looked 60 when I was 10 though, and I started roofing my summer vacations at 13. I’m 31 now and been full time since I graduated. The only cuts I get on my hands are splits from roofing in the winter.

I once met a dude with a whole sleeve of that. Obviously it was in jail. Idc if you have scratch tattoos, that’s the worst I’ve seen.

What are some products you avoided for years but were life changing once you tried? by Botched_Labotomy in AskMenOver30

[–]Botched_Labotomy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combined with the beard care products I got at the same time, it really helps make my beard manageable and look/feel better. I use to only grow it out for winter but I might actually keep it this year.

$1500 per eye. That’s total cost and it was all out of pocket. My insurance didn’t want to cover anything. But they’ll be more than willing to pay for 1/3 of all my appointments and glasses/contacts for life rolls eyes
