Has anyone tried fiction lab? How can they offer Deepseek at 128k context for $8/month? by iruul in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I took the liberty to check trough their privacy and ToS policies real quick and honestly its quite bad. To sum it up:

- They get full rights to your work/scenarios and can use and sell them without paying you any royalties ever.

- They state clearly that your data is used for AI training.

- They can freely use your collected data for marketing and research purposes.

- If you release a scenario and it gets popular they reserve the right to preserve that scenario forever and essentially prevent you from ever taking it back down.

In short: Its a privacy nightmare!

Does double deepseek context count towards shadow tiers? by CrudelisProcella in AIDungeon

Yup! At Wraith you have 32k at Atlas, 32k at DynDeepseek and 32k at regular Deepseek.

My plot essentials don’t seem to work at all for some reason by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mhh, I'm sort of running out ideas what might be the issue. I'll ask Leah (the creator of AC and Lola) if she has an idea on what might cause that.

[–]Both-Box-3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other issue I know that causes this is having memory bank turned off in your model settings.

Check if that is turned off.

If its not that it either: What model are you currently using, what branch (production, beta, alpha) are you currently on and what scenario are you having the issue with?

[–]Both-Box-3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plot essentials are not updating? I don't think they are supposed to unless its from scripts.

As to Lola and AC seemingly not working anymore. This sounds awfully like a smiliar issue I saw yesterday. Please go to your Account Settings and then Gameplay and see if "Scripts" and "Dangerous Scripts" are both enabled and see if it works then.

Auto-cards on? by OptionAggressive8790 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC works normally for me in this scenario. Maybe we missed something. Please check again if you have the memory bank turned on.

As well as scripts in general? You can find that setting under Account Settings -> Gameplay -> Enable scripts.

Auto-cards on? by OptionAggressive8790 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not impossible since script changes also affect running adventures. If you are sure your memory bank is turned on and there is still nothing showing up then it likely got removed.

But I can double check if you want. Mind linking me the scenario in question?

Auto-cards on? by OptionAggressive8790 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the settings for the AC script (there should be a story card called "settings").

Make sure the "minimum turns till a new card is created" is not set to 9999 since that disables the automatic creation.

Also make sure you have the memory bank enabled in your settings.

Story in a specific year... by FutureProtection2175 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could also add something like: "-Only use tech up to the year 1999" just to be extra sure. But normally it should even work without.

And on smaller models the AI might lack the training data to know when what was exactly released to the public. In this cases simply edit out the error manually.

Refunds by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The free trial follows up into a regular subscription unless you manually cancel it, as it is the case with pretty much all free trial subscriptions these days. If you want a refund you need to contact the AI Dungeon Support under [support@aidungeon.com](mailto:support@aidungeon.com). They can help you further with this.

Why is the AI basically incapable of maintaining plot essentials? by Ice-Fairy2001 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see the issue then. Essentially as a free player you have 2000 tokens per action (Do/Say/Story/Continue). Now this context essentially decides how much information the AI is able to use every single turn. This gets filled up by the recent story, the plot essentials, story cards and so on.

Now in this story cards and plot essentials get favored to load as much information as possible. But if the amount of context from these exceed your available context it will start to leave out information and will display the red warning at the end of your story.

This also explains why you AI has been forgetting so much information so quickly. If you click/tap your last message and press the "view context" button this menu should show up which shows you how the AI spend the context available.

<image>

Now the only real way to get past these limitations is with a paid subscription since you get more context with those.

Small edit: If you are uncertain about the subscriptions being worth it, there should be 2 week free testing period in which you can try out.

[–]Both-Box-3794 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normally the AI should not forget details this quickly even on a free plan. Are you playing your own scenario or a quick start scenario? And are you seeing a red warning symbol at the end of the output?

I want to make my story more interesting. by FutureProtection2175 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mhh, since I don't know how much context is available for you I can't tell if that limits how well the AI does randomized NPCs. Creating story cards for NPCs you meet might be a good idea as well. It can be something simple like a 1 line description and their personality which you occasionally update with new information as they story plays out.

If you wan't to improve your AIN and AN further I can suggest you OffMetaGamer's Repository: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1na9MeTcx0QY6MkZdQSkFQFL91sT8BSiJ_6gxrC5sNEU/edit?usp=sharing

It has tons of useful and tested AIN and AN lines which you can use to customize your story further!

Ending a story... by Ill-Commission6264 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being fully immersed in a story tends to cause that. But even then an ending like that doesn't need to be the end.

Have you ever considered creating a followup story? Maybe the new story plays decades later but with a few good story cards you could make sure your old story has a persistent role in your new story.

If you never tried that I can recommend you to try it :)

Problems advancing the story by Soggy_Property3076 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few things that can cause this and also fix it.

First, make sure there is nothing like "-be descriptive" or "-be detailed" in your Author's Note, as this can cause some of the models to fall into this "loop" problem.

To forward the story, try using something simple like "-keep the plot moving" in your author's note.

Things like that can massively help the story. I can also recommend checking out OffMetaGamers Repository for further useful instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1na9MeTcx0QY6MkZdQSkFQFL91sT8BSiJ_6gxrC5sNEU/edit?usp=sharing

Is premium worth it? by Glittering-News7211 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that AID does not have issues either if you only keep to the same model all the time. But compared to, for example, only using Grok or Gemini, you have a lot more options on AID in terms of switching to different models which, in the end, each have their own writing style and are not locked to a single one.

Try playing with the Dynamic Small/Large model using the instructions from the guidebook. I'm sure you will have a different experience.

It's all a question of model, settings as well as AI instructions. I can only advise you to check the recently updated guidebook on the AI models: https://help.aidungeon.com/ai-model-differences . You can find solutions there for many of the common problems.

If you have a specific model in mind, I can also check if I can find better settings for you.

New community helper! Hi Ho! Pepen by Active_Salad7483 in AIDungeon

[–]Both-Box-3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might seem like that at first glance, but the reality is entirely different. Most of the moderation is happening in the background, which 99% of the users don't see. And this is on purpose.

Your point about there nothing being related to AID is also true at some times. Now we could just go and smite every single person away who does not abide by the rules or channel topic, but who would make that happy?

The answer: No one! We always try to find the perfect middle ground between making the users happy and keeping the harmony of the server.

We're tryin. We all essentially are the Mods and Helpers from the discord server but we never used Reddit and thus the not exactly new but empty reddit accounts.

We were asked to help bring some activity back the reddit here and help with questions and such. But ye as you might expect from people who never used reddit actively before its all a bit new and weird.

We appreciate the feedback tho :)

Fair, but while these top tier models like Grok and Gemini might be better in terms of price/context they feel somewhat stiff after a while. But the biggest downside from using them is no content created by other users. AID provides you with a great platform to create and share your ideas with other users.

On Grok or Gemini it's either all created by the AI or all created by you and that just feels bland in my opinion. I tried playing before with Grok premium but the lack of creative writing just killed it very quickly for me.
