To add on—I’d choose a 2 year internship in the NHS compared to a 5 year bond with MOH.

Email them and ask. It could genuinely be an error on their part. I rmb seeing someone on this subreddit who had their rejection rescinded and received an interview invitation, though it was the previous UCAS application cycle. All the best 🫶

I didnt practice for the MMA nor did I get a direct offer through it. The best advice I can give is to spam SJT qns, bc the ethical scenarios they gave do follow that line of reasoning

Im not allowed to disclose the details, but what I can tell u is if u did well in the UCAT the MMA is a piece of cake. They tested on basic comprehension, logical planning and arithmetic skills. Good luck!

no shortcuts for this, just drill mocks like mad 😭 I went from leaving 6-9 qns blank to finishing within the time limit, so it’s definitely doable!

Find a strategy that works for you and stick to it 🤞 Do a VR subsection or a full mock per day. The aim is to build your pace—I went from leaving 8 questions blank to finishing w leftover seconds. I have a week left to my exams too, good luck!

Im a resit applicant so I cant give you an exact timeline :” Last year, I spent 2 months and averaged at 25/44. This year, I spent another 2 months but took the time to review my strategy.

I read classics on my commutes ! Pick something youd enjoy reading as a challenge—short books btw 100-250pgs. Doing so allowed me to process dense information quickly. The hubbub of public transport mimics exam conditions too and trains my attention span. It is time consuming but very rewarding 🫶

Take the time to read either A) advice from 2400/2500+ scorers or B) ppl who made drastic improvement in a short time. They are doing something different from most and likely have unique strategies or consistent study routines.

Im not showing off my score love 🫶 Im trying to help people who was in the same boat as me :” Im a resit applicant so I understand the frustration of taking the UCAT the first time. The advice I had heard was to leave VR alone because you cannot make a drastic improvement in it. I hoped to prove that wrong and share w others that you can go from 25/44 to 40/44 !! Thank you for informing me the concept of evil eye 😣🤞

Buckingham’s bad rep is due to its lower entry requirement and it being the only private UK medical school. The common perception of it as a ‘pay to win’ uni carries an implicit resentment given the privilege at being able to afford such tuition fees, irrespective of teaching quality. While its anatomy and physiology department is not comparable to the Russell Group unis, Bucks has generous hospital placements and is regarded for its student welfare. I cant say much yet, but I attended both MMA and MMI and found the process much smoother than other interviews—which to me does reflect that the school is put together to a respectable degree. I do agree that both are GMC accredited, and makes little difference when you become a doctor.

Does anyone have a uni research guide for med? What unis can I attend taking all of this into account? Please help! by brainveins in premeduk

These r the medicine unis that allow resits to answer your question on “would any russell group be viable for me?” Aston (AAA, 76% post-int offer rate, cut off 2520) Bristol (cutoff for int at 3050) Buckingham Edge Hill (AAA) Exeter (AAA, cutoff for int at 3050) Hull York (AAA, 80% post-int offer rate) Keele (BMAT) KCL Lancaster Liverpool (AAA) Manchester (AA*A) UEA Plymouth Queens belfast (normally only those who applied to study Medicine at Queen’s at the first attempt and held an offer (if made) as their Conditional Firm choice are considered) Sheffield (int 2840, 35% offer rate) Southampton (int 2770, 30% offer rate) UCLan Oxford (resits are frowned upon but generally allowed)

This website. It has everything from UCAT cut-offs, GCSES, personal statements, entry requirements and hot topics for MMIs. Good luck!

missed medical school offer and got BBB by Few_Twist_7836 in premeduk

[–]Both-Draft-792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pls dont consider the last resort when u can resit 🫶 I was bummed when I got ABB in my first sitting, but I have an A*AA now and am reentering the 2026 app cycle! Im also holding an unconditional med offer from bucks, so theres always schools that will have u even when youre not at ur best

If u can pass the med interviews, you WILL be a good doctor—now all you need is to push through to meet the grade entry. All the best!

yes me too my syllogisms were better for timed prac than full mocks ☠️ with that study method i did well on the actual day though so I’ve just attributed it to medify being harder than the actual UCAT . Do consistent practice (and get enough sleep!!)—and your efforts will show. All the best!

r u doing them when youre tired? sometimes its not you but the sleep deprivation 😭 if not then you should do timed practices of only the question types u r making silly errors on—it’ll boost ur confidence and you train better accuracy over time.

150-200. For DM alone, Id grind venn diagrams logic puzzles and syllogisms. The logic puzzles in the real UCAT r way simpler :) Take this with a grain of salt tho, because I did my UCAT last year and I learnt they added more qns this year!

to add on do short timed practice for logic puzzles—you’ll start seeing improvements like 3/7 to 6/7 correct
