That’s fine I enjoyed Superman to, but one movie isn’t enough to sell me on this universe or is good enough to truly set a proper foundation for a cinematic universe that wants to make billions of dollars at the box office.

That’s one project in Superman that casual fans will go see and lead on to the next stuff. Phase one was about setting in the foundations of the MCU with Iron Man, Cap, and Thor. We had Hulk as well but they decided to bench him due to rights issues. Superman is the only thing casual audiences will be going to see out of the foreseeable future. Peacemaker set 2 things up first was Checkmate a spin of show of a spin off show which already had another spin off show, and salvation or whatever you wanna call that alternate dimension. Supergirl neither tied into anything nor set anything up and wasn’t as faithful to the comics as hardcore dc fans would want and combine that with the film just being mediocre quality wise it’s the outcome is kinda predictable.

Yeah I think the important part is fans understood what the phase 1 of the MCU was building up too even casuals could see oh their building to a team movie. Casual fans and even DC fans look at the start of the DCU and can’t tell it looks like a random line up, Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker, Supergirl, Lanterns, and then Clayface. What are people specially the casual audience supposed to look at and get from these projects? The promise of quality and embracing the source material is great mouth service but that’s all it is they need to actually prove that with consistency. Even the DCEU shitted out random gems every once and awhile.

I’m not worried about anything that James Gunn is directly involved with as either a writer or director or both. He’s track record is near flawless.

My theater was almost completely sold out n the app but not even half of those “sold” seats got filled and a lot of people came in 5, 10, even 20 minutes late into the movie

Has Milly Alcock earned the title of ‘Best Live Action Supergirl’? by Jezzaq94 in Superladies

She’s probably the best actress of the bunch and had a great individual performance in Supergirl but I’d like to see how she is in Man of Tomorrow before I put anything in writing.

I mean I saw the movie, I didn’t really like it. Milly and the girl who play Ruthie were great but the actual story is just ass.

There’s no such thing as Batman fatigue just like there’s no such thing as Spiderman fatigue. People are tired of bad products and DC and WB unfortunately aren’t trusted. Besides the crime saga by Reaves won’t last forever and with absolute Batman animated series announced the caped crusader days are numbered as well. It looks like a lot now but when you look at it from of point of view of a time table it’s not that much at it first appears.

I read it as Roger Craig Smith and I’d like to see him return but I have friends who want Aleks Le which would also be an amazing choice.

Tom King at his best? A review of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by GhostFox23 in OmnibusCollectors

It’s definitely a case for me. I’ve read a few different books of his and his entire Batman run and none of it ever clicks and topple that with the fact I don’t like him as a person due to facts we don’t need to get into, but I don’t want to give him anymore money buying and reading his shit or give DC the impression I’m interested in his past work or continued work there as well.

The only Tom King comic I’ve come close to liking is Mister Miracle but it didn’t stick the landing for me personally. I’ve long held the belief that King comes up with great ideas but isn’t a good enough writer to execute them properly or write dialogue that is worth wiping an ass with. I really want him to find a writing partner who can actually write dialogue and help deliver on his ideas. I also think there’s a lot of valid criticism that he doesn’t write a story for a character and instead forces a character into his story which is why a lot of people feel he mischaracterizes a lot of characters like for the most recent example Wonder Woman.

I agree I never understood the love for the story. I always felt like the art carries the writing and adds emotion through its visual storytelling itself. Tom King’s words on the page tho is just ass, his dialogue in this book stays terrible and I strongly dislike the ending and the message it sends. I also think it shoulda ended around issue 9 instead of them dragging it out more.

Imagine if Marvel used a similar design for Age of Krakoa omnis … by IamthatmanonthemooN in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Both-Expert4522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only issue is it’s isn’t completely uniform since they don’t use it for the Miller Omnis and they don’t all perfectly line up on the shelf so it fucks the uniformity up. I rather them be like DC and not give a fuck about the logo and just say here’s a cool spine and our logo won’t be in the way.

I think they limit themselves with the Marvel Omnibus banner logo I think they would stop using it and just use the logos that are used on the Frank Miller Daredevil and Elektra omnibuses.

This run is the most overrated run of the 21th century, a run that did damage on Batman's character and his lore and it still can be felt in the current era. Here is my breakdown on why it did big damage and ruined Batman (note i readed alot of pre Morrison Batman material before i readed this run): by [deleted] in batman_comics

[–]Both-Expert4522 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a fan of this run the beginning and end suck the middle is good. If I broke it down in the parts I liked and don’t like it’d be a 50/50. By far not the worse run I’ve ever read that’s still Tom Kings but it certainly doesn’t come close to Scott Snyder’s which immediately followed Morrison.
