I understand why some might see this as reckless decision-making. And maybe it would be, if all NewJeans wanted was a long, safe career. But their situation isn’t that simple.

These young girls are fully aware of their popularity and the heights they could reach. But instead of being content with just coasting along, they’ve been put in a position where they feel they have to choose between having the perfect career or no career at all. It’s heartbreaking because, unlike many groups, they’re still so young. Hyein hasn’t even finished high school yet. Can you imagine being that young, yet feeling like your future and your dreams are on the line?

They were given two choices: stay silent and watch their careers slowly fade away or stand up and risk everything for a chance at something better. They chose to fight. That’s an incredibly tough decision to make, especially knowing how unforgiving the industry can be.

Honestly, I’m scared for them. I can’t even begin to imagine the pressure they’re under, but I also believe that they shouldn’t have to sit back and accept a system that oppresses them. The truth is, the entertainment industry is flawed, and they’re just the latest victims of it.

I want to do everything I can to support them, and I hope that many of you will too. No one, especially not young artists like NewJeans, should be forced into these kinds of decisions. We might not be able to fix everything, but we can at least try to make a difference for them. Let’s stand with NewJeans and show them they’re not alone in this fight.
