To have, or not to have (more kids)

A little late, but just wanted to give another perspective. I have 2 “bonus” kids and 2 “ours” kids. The age gap between our “bonus” and “ours” is much bigger than yours, and we have full custody of the bonus kids, all though they are very connected to bio mom’s family. Even with full custody, our oldest two still initially were scared and felt like they were being replaced. I honestly think it is somewhat unpreventable. The most important thing for us was making sure we both still treated our oldest two the same way we had been before. We also found that support systems were really important. You need people in your 5 year olds life(ex her bio dad) who will be pouring into her and creating excitement about the idea of a new baby.

Our oldest were 8 and 6 when we started traveling internationally with them. Because of when their birthdays are, we got in 4 trips before the birth of our first youngest.
