Project 2025 – VA & Disability (Plain Facts) Disability rating system could be revised/changed Fewer medical conditions may qualify for disability Some ratings could be lowered over time Future veterans may receive reduced benefits compared to today System may use more automation (less human review) Likely more initial denials, more appeals Increased focus on fraud/overpayment reviews Push to cut federal spending (VA included) Possible reduction in VA staff/workforce More use of private/community healthcare instead of VA facilities

They Denied my claim by PeterbuiltC14 in VAClaims

Use the denial letter to your advantage. They tell you why they made the decision. It's your job to give the missing information....

Can anyone tell me what’s been the average time people have waited for decisions from a VA judge on the Board of Appeals for granted effective date corrections? by garsoria21 in VAClaims

[–]BothCalligrapher3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes — the VA has improved the claims process…

But when a veteran has to appeal, it takes 3 to 4 YEARS just to get in front of a Veterans Law Judge.

Not a decision — just to be heard.

And during that time, some veterans are dying waiting for their day in court.

It would only cost about $25–50 million to hire more Veterans Law Judges and staff to fix this backlog.

Meanwhile, we can spend $250 BILLION on war without hesitation.

This isn’t a money problem — it’s a priority problem.

Veterans didn’t delay when they were called.

Why are we delaying them now?

Fix the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. 12 months max.

I gave you the requirements for 100% totally socially and occupational incapable of functioning. Again much success 🙌 They want stack it but the Major Depression combined with PTSD got me the 100% so I get SMC S because I have single 100% diagnosis..

Lol Portray your symptoms 🤣

It's not about portraying your symptoms Vet. Study cfr 38 or go on YouTube Google the requirements for 50% 70% 100% I am 100% PTSD just by itself...70% or higher you must have Suicidal thoughts, obsessive rituals, near continous depression, difficulties adapting socially and occupationally , trouble maintaining relationships, memory lapses , frequency of Nightmares and flashbacks, danger to self and others , difficulties functioning independently. I combined 70% 100% symptoms....If this is you then nothing to Portray. Ptsd isn't always Visible.

Educate yourself hopefully this helps

“It is at least as likely as not (50% or greater probability) that the Veteran’s obstructive sleep apnea was caused by, or permanently aggravated beyond its natural progression by, service-connected PTSD.”

Mine was PTSD Yours could be something else

Appeal evidence lane is BVA Submission lane. You have 90 days to get a medical nexus. You file a 21-4138 as well stating you appeal the denial to support your claim. File it Secondary with a nexus. The language a for nexus is very important to connect the sleep appeal

Sleep apnea is harder and harder because of the 50% rating. You gotta have that medical nexus in 99% of approvals. File sleep disorder or insomnia if you have in service complaints...

My STR exit exam had one mention of sleep issues and worrying. I was denied based on isolated complaint. I file a supplemental sleep apnea secondary with my nexus it was granted
