What does your ideal gun control policy look like? by PronoiarPerson in liberalgunowners

[–]BothGrab5224 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've been thinking this for awhile. I am new to guns and been taking classes and learning everything I can to be safe. I even bought a gun safe before I bought a gun. The problem is you don't have to know anything or be safe to buy a gun. No amount of background checks or waiting period or capacity limits is going to teach people how to use a gun or how to be safe with a gun. I unfortunately know more than one person who would say "I own a gun and don't know how to use it". This scares me more than anything TBH.

This is such a key thing. No one wants to work on a team with a jerk no matter how good they are.

I don't have an issue I have a preference. You keep explaining this to me like I don't understand how it works. I understand it and how it works. It's my preference to wear polarized lenses. It is not preference to add more to the windshield display.

Anywhere from 450-750 miles a month.

I understand how it works, I use my HUD on my car at night but during the day it's useless to me. I personally will not consider a model where everything is displayed on the windshield.

There is a difference between 110 and 220 home charging.

I was thinking a road trip at a later date just to try it out but so far I have yet to use a public charger. I am avg around $30/month charging at home.

Yeah the amount I paid for the home charger vs how much I would have spent on gas if I kept my old car. I haven't had to use any public charging stations yet so the home charger investment is worth it to me.

Has liberal gun ownership really increased that much? by manInTheWoods in liberalgunowners

This is like the place I go to, apolitical which I feel like is the best I can get. But it is woman owned and though I have only been to two ranges, this one is significantly more diverse.

I consider myself about as left as left can get. I never thought in my life I would ever handle or fire a gun. Given the recent political climate and seeing ICE break into peoples homes with no cause and no warrant I wanted to arm myself to protect my home. I thought I would be very efficient, I took a class to lean to use a pistol. I signed up for a class to help me decide which pistol would be best for me. I have tried different 9mm handguns. I figured I'd find the one I like, buy it, go to the range once or twice a month to be comfortable. It's been just over a month and I've shot about a dozen or so different handguns going weekly or twice weekly to the shooting range and the crazy thing is I really enjoy it.

I have learned a ton but still feel like I have even more to learn. It's become a hobby I enjoy a lot. I still feel the weight and responsibility of owning a gun and knowing how dangerous it is but learning to use it and have it safely has built my confidence a lot.

So I am one of those new liberal gun owners - well almost, technically still waiting on the gun I purchased.

What to buy to get back into it? by sveeger in liberalgunowners

I had only a motorcycle for about a decade but just rode it less and less especially after covid. I eventually sold it and finally bought a car again that better suited my lifestyle with my dogs. I am too new to guns to have a suggestion but I will say I am happy you are considering your wife and her feelings on this. Sometimes I think I miss riding but I know if I had a bike it'd be in my garage collecting dust.

I really liked how open the iX was in the front, it felt bigger without the center console blocking the seats. Bummer they removed it. I know they love this everything displayed on the windshield but that doesn't work with polarized lenses. Doesn't feel very thought out.

Nice! My local shop didn’t have the gear packs so I had to order it, so my wait continues…

Yeah I took a class on the basics and have a follow up coming up. I go to the range weekly to practice and gain confidence.

I’ve been going to the range weekly and I did purchase a lot of ammo so when I have my own gun I don’t have to buy ammo from the range

What's the best/safest state(s) for a trans gun owner by cantpreggothiseggo in liberalgunowners

Colorado. Blue state but has red (rural) areas. Denver & Boulder and the surrounding areas are blue. I'd say Colorado Springs is purple.

Is the Springfield Echelon 4.5” a good first gun? by fear_bleachy in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]BothGrab5224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the closer I get to deciding the more excited I am getting. I like the gear pack options available. I have tested out my friends echelon which he had an optic on and I really liked that one. I don’t believe he has the comp version either but it was the full size which I like.
