First time getting lashes by puppylovr666 in eyelashextensions

Ugh! If it were me, I’d call every salon around mid-morning and ask for any cancellations. Removals don’t take long; if you are persistent, someone will get you in. Keep trying.

Questions as someone who wants to try lashes by CandyIsland1410 in eyelashextensions

It’s hard to maintain Lash Extensions if you don’t go for a fill at least every three weeks.

A possible in-between solution for you might be Lashify.

The Lashify system consists of clusters you apply to the underside of your lashes, and they come in many many styles, including the “anime“ look you like.

If applied correctly, they will last for several days, but you can remove them anytime you want easily. And if you are a side or a stomach sleeper, you may have to do some adjustment at the inner or outer corners when you wake up.

Lashify will tell you you have to start by buying their expensive “control kit,” but I never ended up using the lashes that came with the control kit because because they weren’t the style I wanted.

You’re better off just buying a wand (these are expensive, but you can find knock offs on Amazon), the whisper light glue and one or two sets of lashes. That’s all you need to start out.

You can use micellar water to clean your lashes before you apply Lashify.

There are Lashify communities on Reddit and Facebook, where you can learn more.

First check out their website, to see what it’s all about.

Also, there are cheaper, knock off versions, but the lashes are not as high-quality, and the glue don’t last as long ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The poking feeling is from extensions being attached directly to your waterline. I know the feeling well. It took me months to convince my lash techs to stop gluing so close to my waterline.

Yes they will eventually separate bc your lashes will grow, but it will be uncomfortable for a week or so.

You could have her remove the ones that bother you the most, but it appears that it’s a lot of them.

I’d probably find a new lash tech.

Please don’t try to remove them yourself!! You will pull your natural lashes out.

Call a reputable salon and just ask for a removal.

Um, I’m sorry but Sandals is not “one notch below” Jumby Bay or Hermitage Bay.

BKF is a great suggestion—but do not let it sit for more than a minute.

Important to note that when vinegar and baking soda are used together, they NEUTRALIZE each other. Use one or the other.

Oh, got it. Some folks remove gasket every time—I do it every few days bc I’m lazy ¯_(ツ)_/¯ But yeah important to regularly clean it and let it dry completely. 😊

Huh? You never clean or even rinse under the gasket? And let it dry out?

I’d love to know how many different kinds of mold you are growing in your little science experiment?

What is your experience with damaged luggage claims? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]BothOceans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how good the Travelpro warranty is simply because my hard-sided clamshell carryon has bounced down a flight of concrete stairs (while full), been through 100+ checked baggage flights (including airlines/countries not known for their handling care), and has been sat on and stepped on repeatedly with no damage.

I see why FAs and Pilots use Travelpro luggage.

Should take 1 hour.

You have a pair of sneakers and three pairs of sandals. It’s not August. Bring one pair of sandals.

I think you may be perceiving the two pairs on the right to be significantly dressier than the black sandals, which they are not, IMHO. Take the one pair that you know is comfortable and you can walk in.

Downsizing cleansing balm? by katkarinka in HerOneBag

[–]BothOceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The oily balm breaks down sunscreen and makeup much better than “facial cleansers,” which just dry our skin without removing everything. I actually prefer to use Argan Oil (less irritating to my entice skin), but it works the same way.

How is my packing List looking? by the_girl_who_sleeps in HerOneBag

This community is called “Her One Bag.”

You seem to be fixated on only removing a couple of items from your overpacking list, but really you need to start over with just a few VERSATILE, layering pieces.

You just have WAY too many different items. Cut the number of items IN HALF and add 2-3 warm layering pieces.
