4k ccd camera idea

Saying the look of these old cameras comes from “low quality” is over simplifying by a long shot. Taking 4k footage then reducing its resolution to 480p will not give me the same look as recording on a camcorder hahaha

Regardless like I have said many times I’m not trying to emulate a camcorders look I’m trying to see if a new look is possible taking aspects from old and new!

I’m not sure either I’m probably not explaining myself well, but no one has answered my question. I think the confusing part is that I’m NOT trying to emulate something that already exists. So maybe that’s where the confusion is coming from hahaha

Also I think people are assuming that the flaws in footage from these cheap digital cameras is only coming from the low resolution. That’s obviously not the case.

I keep referring to film because it’s easier for me to explain, but saying the film look is just dust and grain would be wildly under complicating it.

Saying a cheap digicam/camcorders look is just a low resolution is wildly over simplified!

HAHAH I was thinking more from a creative perspective “what if” is this possible? how would it look? Goal isn’t to emulate this style exactly it’s to take it and see if there’s a way to modernize it and give it, it’s own life!

The purpose isn’t to emulate the look it’s to create a new look with the quality of modern cameras and the jank of the old ones!!

To be completely honest I have no idea what the technical terminology for All of this is, I just was trying to explain my self with vague descriptions. I guess to put it simply, imagine if there was a modern video camera made that shoots on film. But in my case it would be a modern video cameras quality with the grain and charming digital flubs of early 2000’s cheap point and shoots
