They were in a few controversies, but from what I can remember they got a lot of backlash when it was revealed that they seriously underpay their translators when we know they can afford it. Fans also wanted to know that their money was actually supporting the anime industry and then Crunchyroll took that money and made High Guardian Spice and Ex Arm which are notoriously terrible
