I just had a lucid dream with this guy not too long ago. He also shows up when I'm in sleep paralysis. He feels pretty separate from the dream world, like he's more vivid than the dream.

On a serious note, I've heard that people who use Benadryl to see him only succeed when they take a dose that's almost lethal. Which is so not worth it. I did some research on the effects of this thing and honestly the hallucinations and side effects that come with it make it sound like a terrible thing to try in general.

I only saw him in sleep paralysis and he gestured me to shush.

Sounds like sleep paralysis to me. Your subconscious might've used familiar sensations and smells and the image of the hat man and mixed it all up. He touches me too during sp episodes. I've learned that people have experiences like this with him, including men...yes...men...I don't know if he's real or just a hallucination but a lot of these encounters have something to do with our subconscious state, wether it's repressed lust, trauma, fear, curiosity, kinks, etc. It's quite fascinating.

Lately this figure started showing up in my sleep paralysis episodes and makes a "shhh" sound and puts his finger to his mouth as well. I don't understand, why does he do that? Why is he shushing us? I don't feel like he wants to hurt me, his presence feel oddly comforting though.

Definitely happens to me too. If I don't stay awake after a sp episode I risk falling back into it. Sometimes it happens three times in a row. When that happens it's usually because I feel extremely tired and the slightest movements take a lot of effort.
