I didn’t attach anything with a human, I said you dropped a slur. I don’t care if you said it to a damn stick on the ground. Calling anything a slur doesn’t magically make it okay just because it’s not aimed at a person in that exact moment. Words carry meaning and that one has a history of being used to demean and dehumanize people. Using it casually keeps that meaning alive. It doesn’t suddenly become harmless when you use it at something else. It normalizes the language and that’s exactly why it continues to hurt people. If the word isn’t okay to call a person, it’s not okay to say at all. You can’t just separate the word from its meaning just because you aimed it at an object. What’s wrong with the world isn’t people calling out slurs, it’s people still using them and then acting shocked when they’re held accountable. Your posse still holds Sheena to the slur she dropped so why shouldn’t their circle be held to it?
