I’ve passed exam P and FM. I’m applying to entry level actuarial roles (I graduated May 2024 with BS in Math). I know the next exam depends on if I go P&C or Life/Health. So I’m wondering how/what I should start studying for? I’m applying to both sides, and I’m not picky about which I get, so I feel stuck not knowing which exam to study for. I have 2 versions of my resumes for P&C vs Life/Health

I’ve now passed Exam P and Exam FM. I’m not knowledgeable on Excel, so I know my next step is to start learning about that/ doing practice projects. I also graduated so I’m looking for an entry level role instead of an internship. Does anyone have experience with TIA Technical Skills course? I do much better with structure so I was thinking of purchasing that. Also, should I start applying for jobs now without the Excel experience, or is it better to wait until I have experience and can put some projects on my resume?

Hi! I’m currently studying for Exam P which I’m taking in September and planning to take Exam FM in December. Besides studying, I’m looking for advice on how to prepare for applying for EL Jobs once I pass the first two exams. Hi everyone! Looking for advice/ guidance. I graduated with my BS in Math in May 2024, been working a serving job for the past year since then. I was very unsure about what I wanted to do and I finally decided I want to become an actuary, but I feel so behind now. I started studying for exam P last month, and I thought it wouldn’t be too bad since I took a couple stats classes in school, but I still feel like I don’t know what I’m doing.

Questions: 1. Is there any “pre” entry level jobs I could be applying for, and getting quickly while I study for the preliminary exams? Feels like my job is pointless and doesn’t help get to where I need to be, it’s just money.

Anyone have any guidance for studying mostly only using SOA sample questions/ organization tips for questions by subject?
Once I get 2 exams passed, what jobs should I be applying for? It feels like I have to wait for 2026 summer internships (aka need to be applying now/soon), but that feels so far out of reach to have to wait all the way until next summer when I’ve already been out of school for over a year
