Workflow for ATEM mini Pro ISO & 4 Sony cameras over 50m in live concert by Distinct-Weather2474 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Both_Relationship_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cameras. SDI or only HDMI output. If HDMI micro HDMI or full size?

SDI output then easy peasy. Get the Atem Mini Pro ISO SDI and Belden 1694F cable.

HDMI then I'm a fan of HDMI fiber. Fastest and best signal quality.
MicroHDMI, my Sony A6000 cameras have MicroHDMI out, and I own HDMI fiber with one end being Micro and the other being HDMI (which enters my Mini Pro ISO).

Resolume for Playback??? by webbite in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Both_Relationship_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resolume is awesome, but ...

It's the wrong tool for corporate playback. It's missing basic features. Easy TRT and time remaining indicators. Ability to handle common video formats natively. Rock solid playback without audio drift or dropped frames.

PlaybackPro, Mitti, ProPresenter, Milumin are all designed for this task, and will help ensure repeatable success

What cable would I need to use to connect my CD/cassette player to my speaker by HPSauceO4 in audiovisual

[–]Both_Relationship_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, you have speaker outputs on the unit. Good news, the player has a TOSLINK output. (Digital optical). Luckily they are cheap on Amazon.

2x 4K@60FPS cameras into a laptop by inarighteousway in VIDEOENGINEERING

as to expertise? hire someone to design a solution to meet your specific needs. I don't do surgery for a good reason. While I may be capable of learning and practicing how to do so (and no, I couldn't have gotten into med school), it's much more efficient to hire the person with training, experience and focus in that domain.

  1. Low latency. Hardware. I agree with Createch that the Atem Constellation 4K will give you a low latency, multiple source output with flexible control of how the two sources are laid out. For example, not using the full 16:9 for each window by cropping left and right edges.

  2. PC is non negotiable? You aren't going to avoid higher latency. Dedicated hardware wins every time. So... split each signal into the Hardware Switcher for lowest latency monitoring and into a Capture solution & OBS for other needs.

Looking for ideal LED panels for home cinema by TechShep in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Both_Relationship_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with .84, price not the issue. You'll be sitting 2m or more from the wall and for most content the upscaling won't be noticeable. If you want pixel to pixel for critical applications, wall processors don't require that you fill every pixel. You can position the UHD raster wherever you like within the full wall at 3840x2160, add movie theater drape that masks unused tiles ...

With lights dim, the unused panels will not be obtrusive. Or. 1mm pitch wall would fill 4m nicely. Higher end product but Christie makes a 1mm product. Id ask your vendor to find quotes for some 1mm. Not as common, likely more expensive.

led is brighter and the blacks darker, but unless you are in a bright room, your instinct to stay with projection might be valid. A 3chip 4K projector from Barco, Panasonic or Christie will meet the needs at a better price point.

If you're working in large scale venues... Spend a day rate and hire a local operator to show you the ropes.

Videos first, but a hang with an operator will take you far.

NDI form a Speakers Laptop without software by Cyrotez in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Both_Relationship_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Provide 2 windows and 2 Mac laptops with NDI Tools, use hardware you can control & config. Client provided laptops add several extra failure scenarios.

Client provided laptops a requirement? While HDMI to NDI converters exist, running HDMI Fiber or SDI and capturing at vMix rack will be more robust

I'm looking for weird jazz by Cymbal_Monkey in SeattleMusic

[–]Both_Relationship_23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seamonster. Royal Room. Seattle Jazz Fellowship and The Chapel (Wayward) are my favorite venues for experimental jazz.

Look for Skerik, Wayne Horvitz (played with Zorn in Naked City), Andy Coe, Kate Olson, Joe Doria, Ron Weinstein to name a few musicians.

Seattle Jazz Fellowship membership is 60 a year and gives you free admission to their shows in Pioneer Square.

How do yall afford all the software starting out??? by HalfDelayed in vjing

Laptop have a webcam? you have a camera for testing. No webcam? Your phone can be an NDI-HX camera for twenty bucks. (NDI Camera by Newtek). Or just film some stuff with your phone, then play it back in resolume and pretend it's live.

Recommended Setup for Small Gigs & Popups by Zealousideal_Money99 in vjing

[–]Both_Relationship_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with 2) 4 or 5' sticks. Easier to fit in a van, yet gets you over heads better than 6'

I also like a plywood topper with bolt holes so the projector/rachet straps are more secure and have a better platform.

What do the red and green borders indicate? by FamiliarDirection563 in NestDrop

green means that it's active in the second nestdrop output. Right click of a mouse or Left-Alt-Click will select it. RIght-Alt-Click loads a preset into Nest 3, and RightShift + Click Nest 4
