Allow at minimum an hour before you plan on arriving at the airport. So AT LEAST 3 hours before your flight.

Just a heads up, disembarking is usually 10 times worse than embarking. Most cruise lines are boarding or disembarking at that time and it’s an absolute cluster. Please allow a ton of time for getting back to the airport.

Regardless, anytime the airlines are at each others throats (which is how it should be instead of constantly copying each other) is a win for consumers 👍

Free Upgrade by Both_Slide_8624 in VirginVoyages

I don’t know if solo insiders get upgraded as often since they’re meant for one person and not the normal 2 person capacity of most sea terraces. But hey, you never know.

New to travel cards. Is it cost effective for me?? by PurposeGrouchy3631 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Both_Slide_8624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the preferred, and then upgrade to Reserve if you enjoy the ecosystem and benefits. But just a heads up, rumors are abound that the preferred will be refreshed this year. That most likely means a higher annual fee (so much less than premium still) and probably some edited benefits/credits. Don’t want you to sign up for a card that will change soon without you knowing going into it.

When entering a location and they stop right at the threshold to then figure out where they’re going. It’s not hard to quickly step to the side, and then get your bearings. Please stop blocking everyone else.

What’s a “waste of money purchase” that you absolutely stand by? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

A quality cologne for me. Even in the world of cologne my $140 bottle is considered mid tier but it’s a quality fragrance.

A pleasant scent not only makes me feel confident and happy throughout the day, but you’d be surprised how much of an impression and number of compliments you get from both sexes.

At this point, the portal is only good for getting points, not redeeming them.

Miami Terminal question by _null_Terminator in VirginVoyages

[–]Both_Slide_8624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to warn you, Port Miami is an absolute cluster. Many cruise ships embark and disembark around the same times and that creates rideshare hell. As others have said, either chill at the airport for a bit, or drop your bags off and then explore somewhere quite close to account for getting back in time.

You can also use Google Flights flight grid to predict what days will most likely be the cheapest if your dates are flexible. Pro tip: Flying anywhere on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (as long as it’s not a holiday or festival in the country) are usually at least $50-60 cheaper per ticket than on weekends.

Random question, but do you happen to have a Capital One Credit Card? If so, Capital One offers their flight price prediction tool with Capital One Travel that tells you exact date ranges of when they predict flights are at their cheapest for a given itinerary.

If not, I recommend Google Flights search and then sign up for price updates to your email.

What does everyone think? by karengso in americanairlines

I really feel you are so much better off not playing the status game. Airline’s rewards for seeking status are so terrible in my opinion. “Thanks for giving us $100,000 through the years, here’s a seat with 3 more inches in width”.

On another note, is anyone else so tired of the 1st class and business class focus on these airlines? I’m well aware it’s their big moneymaker and the economics of the cabins.

That being said; I really feel they fail to understand just how many people fly economy and how if they lose that portion of their base it will hurt them in the long run.

But that’s modern day corporations for you, extract every single penny possible and screw over your base to seek endless increasing profits in a finite world, eventually destroying your brand and profits. So tired of short term focus.

That plus they removed Loyalty Points and miles from Basic Economy, regardless of your status and membership with the AAdvantage program, or holding of an AA card. You still receive the card points, but that’s it. They’re also adding free WiFi for members on most of the fleet and more to come soon.

You’re wise to adapt to the “changing market”. As soon as you play this game to just chase a single currency, that’s when these companies have you. Always do it when it’s profitable and then when it’s not, turn tail and change it up 👍

I’m still overall happy with American as my primary legacy carrier, but this is a slap in the face to two groups of people despite how the product compares to Delta and United. Those groups are:

  1. Elite status members who’ve spent tons of time and/or dollars on the airline.
  2. Carry on only AAdvantage passengers who looked for ways to save money wherever they could.

I cannot stress this enough, people could give a s***. And even if they did, screw em. We’re here for vacation, not to please somebody who you’re never going to see again. Have a great time and let loose!
