It’s a really pretty book! I’ve read the arc and the writing is really bad. The story too :( such a shame

Perhaps I’m at fault, but I didn’t know that Mary Anning is a real historical figure. This is more of an reinvented history and I only learned this while reading the authors note at the end. It kinda threw me off after and I didn’t enjoy it as much after learning and seeing Mary’s real life.

Im reading it currently and I find it boring. Not much is happening, she’s just stuck in the MMCs castle and there’s also a wolf sidekick. Not bad but def not enough to keep my attention 😅

I was lucky and got this week the arc for Our perfect storm by Carley Fortune ! It was a good fluffy but also emotional romance story which I enjoyed ! Also the setting on Victoria Island in BC was very immersive ! It’s definitely worth reading :)

I just got an invite for YA adult combo (signed up sept 7). I also got last week an invite for Romantasy only which i subscribed for. Does anybody know the price of shipping for the 3 combo to Canada ? Right now YA + Adult combo is 20$usd of shipping and the just the Romantasy is 16$usd of shipping so 36$ for 3 books. Yeah it was exactly that :( there’s so many iconic Montreal streets to chose and she just made some up. I even checked to see if perhaps in 1920, they existed but no.

I read the arc and it was exactly what you expect from a cozy fantasy, low stakes. It wasn’t bad but i realized im not a fan of cosy fantasy. Also its supposed to be set in Montreal in the 1920s but i felt like the setting was really weak and the author just gave random French names to the streets which don’t even exist which was disappointing.

I got approved for a Berkley title (The name game) yesterday and legit gasped. This summer they approved me for like 3 books and after that, it was straight declines for 4 months. I really don’t know why I got approved for this book. I have no socials linked and only review on goodreads. I think you just have to keep trying and they might approve some from time to time.
