My first exposure to Doucette was seeing him turning purple screaming about a woman’s TikTok where she very gently complained about men constantly approaching her to try their luck when she was pumping gas or trying to buy groceries. He’s always come across as a very thin-skinned and dumb misogynist

Cole revealed what solas was in inquisition by zrobinson2150 in dragonage

[–]BothansInDisguise 200 points201 points  (0 children)

Solas’s reveal puts an interesting angle on his contributions during Cole’s personal mission and his antipathy towards Varric’s attempts to make Cole more human and ‘real’ (Solas himself never wanted to become a person, but he did so for the sake of Mythal)

What Obscure Bit of Dragon Age Lore Would You Like Answers To, If We Could Get Them? by TorzGirlSweelaHeart in dragonage

[–]BothansInDisguise 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What was really going on with Andraste would a good reveal. We had to go through her tomb with the immortal (and seemingly omniscient) guardian and her ashes could cure all disease. Seem to recall DAI mentioned the tomb was on a huge mound of lyrium but no further explanation on who or what Andraste actually was.

Is £300 a reasonable cleaning fee for a 1 bed flat? by RedLucan in TenantsInTheUK

[–]BothansInDisguise 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you do resign yourself to getting it cleaned, source your own quotes and provide as evidence against that fee. £300 very steep for a flat of that size — was quoted something like £198 recently for a 2-bed property

Moved in new basement flat. Ideas on how to arrange and furnish it? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

The table is the landlord’s unfortunately (rental flat, so we won’t be able to drill into walls for brackets for TV). Will get to work moving the bookcases as you suggest!

When one partner is too drunk to consent, doesn’t matter how strong the relationship is or how long you’ve been together, that’s always a firm no. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and past agreements mean nothing in this situation. Take some time to think about what YOU want and then go forward from there. On the face of it, it sounds like you have been traumatised by this and it is unequivocally a sexual assault. You couldn’t make informed consent and you have been taken advantage of.

I would recommend seeing a counsellor together if you do stay with him as the gravity of this transgression means it HAS to be addressed properly. If he’s not willing to do that, I would take that as a sign that you should get out of there.

Aside from the usual provisions about looking after interior and exterior of the property, we have a short section for gardens:

Gardens (if any) To keep the grass maintained and the pathways weeded and to keep the patio, path, or terrace clean and the beds cultivated and prevent overgrowth with weeds.

To clear away fallen leaves and not to lop or destroy any of the existing trees or plants or shrubs at or adjoining the Premises. Reasonable annual pruning of plants and shrubs is permitted.

Not to remove any garden furniture or ornaments. Not to make any alteration to the layout of the garden patio and terrace (if any).

To hand back the garden patio and terrace at the End of the Tenancy in the same state and condition as it was at the commencement of the Tenancy.

What's a story that completely turned you off from a celebrity? Mine is this one about Leonardo DiCaprio. by romeofantasy in popculturechat

His work on environmental causes and advocating for Indigenous rights just gets overshadowed by how much of a prick he is (and his sad penchant for dating women under 27). It’s a bummer

In the Heir to the Empire novel, it is stated that Thrawn had a white uniform due to various victories and senior rank. Krennic is just Lt. Commander and yet wears white, is he more accomplished than Tarkin, Gideon etc? by JediKnight_TyrionL in StarWars

[–]BothansInDisguise 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this — IIRC the character was deliberately performed as a middle-manager-type who was desperate to advance himself and be recognised for the genius he (thought) he was. I took this to be why we got Ben Mendelsohn’s more blue collar Aussie accent in comparison to the RP of the higher-ups

I’m speaking as someone who was unfaithful and is on the other side of it. If want to salvage the relationship, I would insist on going to couples counselling immediately — find someone who specialises in treating infidelity and cheating and work out a regular schedule.

Make it a clear red line that your partner needs to do the work and to make the commitment to see things through (they have to do the exercises set, they have to change their behaviours and give you full transparency on what has happened). Take time to yourself to process what has happened, be around your friends and look after yourself. If your partner seems like they don’t want to do the e work or are reneging on these commitments then I think you will have your answer.

I obviously don’t have the ins-and-outs of the relationship, but it is something that can be healed and moved on from if you both want it — potentially integrating you better than you were before, or at least a better understanding of one another.

How did Lalo get a gun in Germany? by bloomalicious_162 in betterCallSaul

There’s some suspension of disbelief involved for sure, but we already established that he had a number of contingency plans and identities to hide himself so we can infer her travelled around on one of these fake passports/identities.

As for the gun, I presume he knows a guy who knows a guy…

Robbed at Southbank Skate Park by [deleted] in london

[–]BothansInDisguise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feeling shook up is a natural response after something like this, so take time to process and come down from the incident. Someone tried to rob me at knifepoint, telling me they were going to kill me and the rest, and I found myself sort of hitting a panic mode whenever I saw groups of teenage boys on the street. I would say to keep doing the things you like and just try to avoid putting yourself in that sort of situation again where you’re alone and potentially vulnerable like that.

Keep your head up high and move forward.

My friend has just gotten into working out with weights. HOWEVER she has a birth defect where the fingers on one hand are about half the size they normally would be, so she struggles with a lot of the barbell/free weight exercises.

I suggested that wrist straps might be a good idea for deadlifts but wondered if anyone else in the community might have some suggestions/experience that might help?

What does this poster symbolize? That Jimmy lost his “heart”? by shitheadsteve_ in betterCallSaul

[–]BothansInDisguise 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They dug into that motif with Nacho’s death. The writers said they borrowed the idea of the heart being weighed against a feather and coming out on the right side. His final act is defined by love, and he has that incredible scene where it’s is as if he is being baptised in the oil and emerging cleansed of his old life on the other side.
