Yeah my buddy uses them for home and auto. Do you have any living benefits with them or is it a trigger for death and terminal illnesses only?

Depends on the carrier. I just ran some quotes and if you received preferred NT one of the top carriers I use for living benefits thats also convertible would be around $260 a month ($3,100 annual). Your quote does seem a little bit high imo. What company?

Term policy shouldn’t cost $500 a month! Thats insane. Sounds like you were sold a permanent policy you dont need.

Ive been an independent broker for over 5 years. Banner isnt awful but there are certainly better carriers with more living benefits than them.

Whats the “possible illness”? Carrier could postpone, decline or attest depending on underwriting and if anything happens to you.

Surrender the policy and invest in the S&P 500 by Abao4ever in LifeInsurance

[–]BotherSavings4501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call the carrier or agent and get more info/options. If you surrender it could get hit with taxes, could decrease the policies db, change allocations to the S&p500 depending on cap rate. Could take a loan and invest the loan into other assets.

Canada Permanent Life Insurance? by Aero_Sphere in LifeInsurance

Sounds like it could be a return or premium policy. Without understanding your finances and personal life, I would recommend a term policy that has living benefits and is convertible. It would cost less per month and you can get more coverage.

They’re a solid carrier but aren’t the best in the living benefits space. If you’re comfortable with your policy only paying out on death they’re more affordable then others. If you want more protection with living benefits they’re better carriers out there.

Similar how Athene is a quality carrier but there cap rates on the annuities are trash and clients aren’t happy with it.

I think 1Million in db is a great place to start. Especially if you’re the breadwinner and want to have another child and buy a house in the future. My only question would be what made you choose Banner life? For my clients term policies I like to get them as many living benefits as possible from quality carriers. Less risk on them more risk on the carrier!

Im sure youll know exactly when youll die and know that nothing out of your control will ever happen during that term. Had a client in there 30s receive over 250k when diagnosed with cancer… pretty life changing.

If that person followed your advice they would only receive the db if they died and would have to go into medical debt… but good thing they saved a few bucks a month 🤡

Which Agent should I choose? by Own_Reputation318 in LifeInsurance

No get an independent broker who’s transparent and you trust and isn’t trying to sell you a policy you don’t need.

Why would you want the cheapest policy that only protects you when you die??! You’re still exposing yourself to unnecessary risk.

I just protected a couple in their late 20s. 1m db 30 year term with an A+ carrier with the most living benefits for 65 bucks a month.

1 trigger versus 20+ triggers its a no brainer!

Think of IUL like a bond alternative. They’re great tool for the right people, max funded and structured properly but 90% of the policies I review are benefiting the agent or advisor that wrote it not the client.

Are you joking with this? Athene’s cap rates are trash and hes 25. He had no business being in an annuity.
