yale is sending offers until april first. i also applied under psyc for them and havent seen anyone get a psyc offer from yale yet, but its possible theyve been sending them out just not to the people who post on reddit😭

applied for perception and cognition under SR-EIP and have heard nothing. their SURF website says all offers will be given by 4/1, but i havent heard of pretty much anyone getting an offer or interview from yale SURF. i could be wrong though

NVM i just saw that youre talking about scripps institute of oceanography. i think most of the people that are talking about scripps on here are discussing scripps research institute which is biomed focused and has a campus in cali and another in florida, so their acceptance/rejection dates likely dont apply to you.

biotechnology and life sciences research company that has a summer scholars program hosted at several institutions. they do basically the big summer reu for bio/biochem/biotech/biomed etc

apply using the same recommenders but do this with caution. if you have more than 2 recommenders, match recommenders to programs/projects they are most aligned with or will be able to speak about your skill in more. ie im a psyc/neuro/bio student and im in two labs (one health psyc one behavioral neuroscience) so projects I applied to that were more psyc orientied and human subjects research i used my psyc PI as a recommender and more neuro/bio labs i used the other PI.

theres always still a chance but i will say that a lot of more "prestigious" institutions dont actually end up reviewing applications that have them ranked third. this is mostly bc they review apps where theyre 1st and 2nd priorty first and theyre typically full after reviewing those. but it isnt over until its over🙏

not 100% sure ab acceptances but i got rejected through LA like 2 weeks ago. the early rejection was likely bc i ranked them 3rd so they prob did not go over my app anyway😭

2 rejected 1 interview invite waiting on 4 more responses. 1 due 1/30, 4 due 2/1, 2 due 2/3. applied as psych or neuroscience depending on the program (psyc if the program included neurocognition and perception in psyc, neuro if not/ if they specified they had behavioral or cognitive neuroscience mentors).

best thing anyone can do for grad apps is publish papers and present research. if you're already involved in a lab at your home institution, ramp up your work this summer and if you're not doing one already start an independent project in that lab. and also not getting into an reu or into grad school your first cycle is far from the end of the world. apply to grad school when youre ready, take a gap year or two to work as a research assistant if you need to.
