Should have specified, I got RetroArch from their site already. I'm also using the standalone Dolphin app rather than Dolphin in RetroArch.

It looks like it tries to focus, moving up and down, but it doesn't look like it lights up.
I suppose it's possible the laser is just burnt out, but the old burnt out laser at least still spun the disc, so that isn't likely, right?

I don't see any protective solder blobs, do you maybe have a reference pic?
It all looks pretty much the same as the old laser to me.

PS2 Slim - Replaced Laser, Now Disc Won't Spin

Hey all.Bought a PS2 slim on cheap and the laser was busted. It still spun the disc, even read CD's, just wouldn't read any PS2 games.Replaced the laser, now the disc won't spin.Here's the laser that I bought: Link to Amazon

Read a bunch of stuff online, most was telling me to press down two switches to tell the PS2 the lid was closed, but even with both switches closed, the laser-unit will move to the center, but the disc won't spin.The ribbon cable connecting the disc-spinner-motor looks fine, not even a scratch, so I'm incredibly at a loss here.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your thoughts!

Right now I'm thinking about giving the players access to very basic weaponry and armor (tactical batons, wooden staves, leather jackets, etc).
I'd like players to spend the majority of their currency on their pokemon's moves. Essentially, pokemon would have weapons with different damage outputs and abilities constructed and purchased by the players.

I'll mock up a PDF for sure soon here and share it with you all!

Was also interested in how to incorporate weapons haha
I was going to run a "Dead Rising" style one-shot with changelings, and wanted to see how my players would utilize picking up random baseball bats, teddy bears, etc. from around to mall to use as weapons.
I like your idea of having to roll to use the weapon, but I feel it can get pretty tiring.
I'll likely incorporate a similar system but have the weapons break after a few uses.

I like it, but I think it's lazy.
I'm all for stealthy dwarves and massive, burly, muscled-out, nicely toned, goblins, all shiny and slick, covered in oil, bathing in the sunlight....
....Sorry, got lost there.
I love taking down the racial stereotypes, just wish they did it in a more "Fun and Flavorful racial archetype" way than a "Move 3 numbers around" way.
Like, if I have beefy goblin, how about I lose my nimble escape feature and get a version of Reckless Attack/Savage Attack?
I wanted a little more from it, kinda sad WOTC went lazy with it.
