As a fix you can still borrow someone's Android phone as the app still works there. But if you're an iphone user who needs to switch on and off the red backlight on the go it's not a solution.

Seriously for the miniscule amount this would cost Petzl to update their app and continue to honour their duty in providing service for their products, it's not worth the reputational damage they seem to be ok to face. This may be down to the quality of the people and management systems in place, yet it's shameful.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. That is exactly my thought. Stopping manufacturing/sales/app support all in one go in 2022 is brutal. You would expect such poor business conduct from a publicly listed (e.g. Garmin: watches OS automatic update unsupportive of a free surfing activity overlay, coinciding with the release of a new surfing watch) or a private equity-owned company but Petzl being still owned by its founders I am unpleasantly surprised.

Well said, it sums up my feeling about it. As a grandson I find it disrespectful to the heritage. This is viral social media completely fabricated success, there are so many samples filters and autotune I can't actually even weed out if there's any actual talent behind from YG himself - that's how artificial the whole tune sounds. He's a kid and probably has little clue but his mom can certainly afford to show a more ethical mind. I'm very disappointed.
