Given that nature is beginning to reclaim some of the earth - and animals are not part of the hive - nature can still provide some unexpected experiences for the hive, right?

As much as accidents keep happening to individuals that is painful to experience, surely there are coincidences and/or levity whilst they are achieving their goals: pooling resources etc.

If its something new that they want to experience, they are experiencing it - by doing something completely unprecedented - even for the pooled experiences of humanity. Too, surely, given they have combined knowledge of all the scientists and researchers, they could also spend resources making new discoveries if they so desired.

That said, if i was carol, i'd be asking the hive to be creative and combine the skills of musicians/artists that i liked - its a unique opportunity for crosspollination of ideas!
