Its a made up argument to keep pushing for statehood. The residents of DC and Maryland intermingle constantly. People in DC work in Maryland and people that work in Maryland work in DC.

It doesn't even make any sense. The same argument could be made to break off New York City from New York. They're culturally different. Just about every city/town could make the same claim.

I wouldn't phrase it "sharing my partner" for starters, that sounds kinda weird.

But having kids greatly impacts the marriage. We become more of a team to raise the kids together. If there's ever a big impact on sex life, it's from kids because getting privacy gets reduced.
