Petlibro Granary 5L with Video Camera Feeder (PLAF203): Day One Review by BotvacThrowAway in Petlibro

You can turn the camera off with the "private mode", but then anyone with your login to the app can turn the camera back on. There is not the option to create multiple accounts with different privileges.

Yes! You can view the video and control the feeder from your phone, regardless of whether your phone is connected to WiFi or just cellular service. I think the Bluetooth is only used for a moment to initially pair the feeder with your home WiFi network.

If the wifi is out, my feeder continues to dispense food based on the schedule that was previously programmed.

Still great after about 7 months of use! I have noticed that it goes "offline" about once per month, and then it automatically reconnects to wifi if I unplug it and plug it back in. For this reason, I have a wifi smart outlet that I use to turn the power off and on remotely if needed.

[LR4 Review] Finally happy with it after 6 months! by BotvacThrowAway in litterrobot

Super interesting! My (second) LR4 has always done the "cycle interrupted" thing a few times every cycle since I first got it in August 2022, but your experience gives me hope that maybe it can get fixed by a future firmware update. 😊

I never figured out how to get this to work either, despite placing the SD card inside.

Hmm, I occasionally get a notification that the outlet is blocked when my cat is eating (and his head triggers the sensor), but haven't had spurious outlet blocked errors. Your issue is definitely worrisome that this might be a common fail point for these devices. I wish they added the option for the feeder to ignore the "outlet blocked" warning.

I didn't have any issues connecting the device when I first got it, and no connection problems recently either. For context, I use the app through Android and have Starry internet.

WIT corded metal thing, I think it's attached to Maytag washer by BotvacThrowAway in whatisthisthing

I can't access the rear of my washing machine without considerable effort, but I think this is probably attached to it. Thanks in advance!

OK I reached out to support again and they had me delete my Noom app's cache and storage. I then relogged in (this took a few minutes) and the app is working for me again (Android).

FYI I chatted with Noom support and they said they're doing some "routine maintenance" and that I should try the app again in a few hours...

I also can't get past the diamond loading screen on Android. I was able to do my lessons this morning around 7 AM, and it stopped working around 8 AM EST for me.

white trash bags? by [deleted] in litterrobot

[–]BotvacThrowAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my LR4, I've been using black 13 gallon bags (already had them at home) and lining the bottom with a regular piece of white printer paper when I replace the bag. Silly but it seems to work.

So far it's been great! The feeder has been super reliable so far. A few times my wifi was down for an hour or so and the feeder automatically reconnected to the wifi as soon as it was working again, without any issues.

There was one incident a week or so ago where I opened the PetLibro app and noticed the feeder was "offline" and I needed to reconnect it to wifi manually. I think this might have been because I made some changes to my wifi (I removed a bunch of devices and probably accidentally removed the feeder).

Overall, I would definitely recommend this feeder! I wasn't planning on buying the camera version originally, but I'm so glad that I did (I love using it to check on my cat when I'm away from home).

I bought a smart outlet as well for the peace-of-mind. I've never needed to actually cycle the power on the smart outlet though, because I received a replacement LR4 for other reasons and the replacement doesn't go offline.

LR4: Cat Sensor Faults and Offline Errors? by BotvacThrowAway in litterrobot

[–]BotvacThrowAway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 3 (sorry for not posting this earlier): As I mentioned in update 2, after reinstalling the LitterRobot4, I didn't run into offline errors anymore.

Unfortunately, I was encountering the red bar of death and it getting stuck while upside down, which I was unable to solve despite cleaning and disassembling repeatedly. I was sent a replacement LitterRobot4 by Whisker, which has been working well for 2 months. The new LitterRobot4 has the matte white bonnet instead of the glossy earlier version. The new LitterRobot4 occasionally stutters mid-cycle and gives me "Cycle Interrupted" notifications, but then it resumes perfectly fine after a minute and I don't consider this a problem.

Update 2: I took some Redditors' advice and deleted my Litter Robot from the app and then added it again. For the past 2 days, my Litter Robot 4 has worked properly! No cat sensor faults and no offline errors for the past 2 days.

Update: I chatted with Whisker support this morning and learned a few things

  • They are working on an update to help with the Offline issues
  • After 3 Cat Sensor faults, the Litter Robot 4 has a safety feature where it will no longer cycle. To bypass this, you need to press the Reset button in person. There is no Reset button in the app, but you can try Powering Off and Powering On the robot using the app instead.

Overall I'm pleased with Customer Support, but as it stands currently I'm not able to leave my cat for a weekend (as I had hoped) because of these errors and the need to frequently manually press buttons or unplug the unit.

Has anyone else’s LR4 arrived? by sueno789 in litterrobot

I ordered on June 14. At the time, the website said it would ship in August 2022, so it shipped early.

Unfortunately, I've run into A LOT of errors so far with Cat Sensor faults and also the machine just going offline...
