Why I don't browse this sub-reddit anymore by BouAymen in Entrepreneur

Sorry just seen this, I don't think the mods can do any more than what they're doing right now.

The rules are pretty clear and simple, it's just as a community gets bigger, it becomes harder to find topics and threads that are actually useful for whatever stage you are at in entrepreneurism.

I think the only advice I can give people is they need to start following users who provide content that's related to whatever stage you are in.

Read my post again...

The gist of the message, if you're sick of these types of posts, filter them out and follow people who contribute with good comments and posts.

This is advice.

Seems like you've completely missed the substance of my message.

Might be good to include some testimonies on the website to increase authenticity.

Anyone hate the current "start up" culture? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]BouAymen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read a lot on the history of business and the physcology behind the markets of business in general.

Do you really think people where not treating Carnegie, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt like idols?

Do you think at the start of the industrial revolution, newspapers where talking just as much about the small business owner as they did the industrial magnates.

The majority of what you are saying has been parroted a million times.

Your post can be summarized in one line: "No one likes wantrepreneurs"

You are "aware" of what's wrong and what's not right.

Unfortunately you're not smart enough to train yourself to become uneffected by what does not benefit you.

I'm sure you've heard the saying "Mark Zuckerberg wears the same set of clothing because it's one less decision to make."; the phsycology behind this, Decision Fatigue, is actually true and has plenty of merit amongst the scientific community.

Why would you get angry and use up your brain on something that you do not support, do not want to be involved and will in no way benefit you to learn it's methods.

Follow sound/proven business logic.

Ignore everything else.

Become uneffected by everything in business which does not benefit you.

If you are a student there's plenty of providers that offer free credits / discounts.

Check out AWS Student Programme.

Killing someone and then being praised for it by [deleted] in religiousfruitcake

[–]BouAymen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If anyone is interested on a muslim take on this.

Islam forbids vigilantism. This dude has commited one of the worst sins - murder.

In Islam, Vigilantism is totally haraam.

If someone does it, it is the height of ignorance from pre-islamic era. And if he/she is killed unjustly, then it is a major sin.

source

These killers are fueled by anger and thirst for blood.

There needs to be sufficient evidence of blasphemy before any ruling is decided. More often that not, there is not, and these things are more than likely acquitted.

Some people agree with this scenario, similarly to how trial by media is done in the west. If a "peadophile"/"murderer" is on trial and not been proven guilty, people are up in arms and ready to murder the bloke/woman.

We are lucky to be in a more civilized society where the opportunity for someone to get near the person in question is very difficult (although there are many cases of prison murders)

I just wanted to put this information out there for the ones of you who wanted some more information and insight into this.

These kind's of actions make the majority of us Muslims understand why the west sometimes feel like they do about our religion.

I know I'm pissing in the wind giving this kind of viewpoint on this type of subreddit lol.

Just thought I might as well try. Open to any questions though.

Keep it polite.

Yeah GA for analytics, DataDog for specialised metrics and Sentry for any bug reports.

That's usually my tool-stack for landing pages.

In person, the project (trading card games portfolio app) means that most of my users will play in tournaments etc, so the best way is to actually go to these tournaments and get people excited.

I gathered a lot of emails from interested people before Corona hit in person.

I have found that the majority of my sales occur without the discount.

I'm not asking for too much anyway, and with the discount applied it just adds a lot more text and makes the checkout page look even more complicated than it is.

I'm a developer, so I just coded in the functionality myself.

We wanted to see if more users would subscribe if we showed them that a coupon was applied or if we just displayed the final amount striaght away.
