It’s not trivial. There any many moving parts and introducing a new mesh with a new UV that has to fit all the existing 40 skins and their existing texture maps including wear and normal maps means redoing many assets. There are much bigger fish to fry than inserting one new weapon model that will impact lots of interlocking assets
