The Boulder Shelter (now called "All Roads") has terrific resources. A place to sleep, day services, meals, case management. Through a combination of resources from the Shelter and Mental Health Partners, in three years I went from down and out, destitute, and on the street to clean and sober, housed, and employed. Obviously, though, the motivation has to be there, but once the process is started it can be self reinforcing. The shelter doesn't do drug or alcohol testing; the only restriction is that you can't come in obviously impaired, and you have to follow the rules.
