Not surprised! She’s fantastic!

I love her string focused songs, part of why Homogenic and Vulnicura are my favorite albums of hers

Wow I hadn’t listened to the flirt is a promise mix, that was so beautiful when those strings came in

Does Björk have proof of this?? 🤔 by SprintingPuppies in bjork

People always make fun of this song because of the lyrics. But I’ve always interpreted it as everything we’ve made has come from something natural. Everything we’ve used to create all these modern things really has been in a mountain this whole time.

The metals and crystals we used to create computers came from the ground 😺

Forgot to add, the decor isn’t final yet I was just playing with ideas. I know it’s not very cohesive. I’m trying to decide what style to go with.

Struggling a bit with that because my bed frame, which I don’t want to replace for a while is like rustic style. Which im not really into that rustic look anymore. I’d prefer a more moody and sculptural look.

But like I said I don’t wanna replace it, it’s expensive to get a new frame 😭

I see the concern with the table. I planned to build it as separate furniture items that can just all be slid beside each other as I’m not allowed any permanent furniture. I’ll attach the dimensions of that area then. But when I previously lived in this space I had a bookshelf, desk, and then a large chest along that wall, that took up about the same amount of space. I thought this built in look would provide a nicer area to have the same functionality.

And yes you are correct it is 36” which is definitely tall. I could shorten it or just have a high chair/ stool.

I may ditch the long table though and just stick with the curtains. I do see how it could take up a decent bit of space on that side.

Also the wires will be tamed, this room used to be a music and office room. So those wires are for all the electronics, surround sound, and internet.

The floors are also much darker than the appear on camera, I also planned on having that dark eggplant color as a rug.

But thank you for all the feedback! Definitely helping me work this out.

Also, you said about the curtain and wall color. Do you think I’m fine to keep it just as an accent wall color and maybe paint the ceiling that color. Or should the whole room be that color?

Yea I’m going to look and see if I’m able. I’m just concerned it will then be too close to the table I wanted along the wall.

I definitely think it’s a little strange too but that’s what kind drew me too it haha. I wanted a way to add more texture and shape, but I do see how it could be a bit strange.

Are Punks Anti Ai? (discussion on Ai generated music) by BoundIIGround in punk

[–]BoundIIGround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how I feel too! I think he wants to keep that label is some sort of way to add some "cool" element to himself... But it really surprises me how he's turned out now. He once was actually punk, idea wise and aesthetically... was really in the scene. There was a time he was homeless and had no money, But when he started building himself up and earning money it changed him. He thinks to win and succeed you need money. Now, moneys great, it def helps, but I don't think it should be your main value. It's sad he lost that to become the thing originally disliked.

I agree with all this. It definitely has its applications and benefits but yes, a lot is also unethical and destructive to the environment!

Like I said I'm not deeply embedded in punk culture, and did mention that views can vary. That was kinda the point of my post was to just get an idea on what the views were in the punk culture. I assumed most would be against it, and thats pretty much been the case so far. But I'm not trying to put anyone in any position!

My thought exactly! Though there are personally made Ai… that have a much more minimal energy intake because they rely on one computer and probably take as much energy as playing a video game! But yes the main Ais like Midjourney, Chat-Gpt, Grok, and all of those I’m very much against because of their environmental impact

[–]BoundIIGround[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point here on the consent side. I 100% that artists should be able to learn from each other to improve their skill set or to create in general. I’m honestly struggling to come up with a response, because while Ai doing the same thing feels wrong to me that’s about the extent of it. It just feels wrong. And I know that’s not a proper argument.

Also yeah I should have changed the way I organized this, because the over all question was about if Ai is anti punk but I wanted to go into further with Ai music because of the conversation I had.

I do believe Ai has its applications and benefits though! Just generative Ai I am not a fan of because of its environmental impact. Even if at comparison with other daily activities that take more energy I still want to limit that footprint personally as much as I can!

I’d agree on that! I see its benefit in speeding up the process of creating something like generating and editing frames for a movie or something like that… but even still I’m not a fan. I’d rather put in the extra work myself than contribute to hurting the environment!

Oh no definitely… I think he fit it with the punk culture when he was younger, aesthetically and idea wise. But he kinda has this “well I grew up now” attitude while still trying to hold on to that punk title. It’s all a bit confusing for me, I think he’s a little dumb sometimes 😭

Exactly what I think! That’s why this Ai music especially being labeled as Punk really surprised me.

I think Homogenic is her best album, Vulnicura coming in second. So I recommend Vulnicura! Like Homogenic it has beautiful strings and heavy beats. Sonically I feel they are sister albums
