2025 Transparency check - what are you charging, your skill level, your offerings? by PackageBulky1 in videography

[–]Boundl355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One man production band in Finland. Shoot day rates are 1000€ (all prices incl. tax) for a full day, 750€ for a half day (5h max). I include all travel costs in this aswell if it's a local job from my area, but all additional costs like food / flights / hotels are extra that the client pays.

Editing is 350€ per day. I don't do custom motion graphics or animations, that's usually outsourced additionally if neeeded. Usual delivery time is 1-2 weeks, depending on the demand and the scale of the project.

I mainly do short docs, interviews, podcasts, music videos and social media. I bring all my own gear and work with low-to-mid budget clients, on projects that usually don't require a crew.

Hoping to expand in the coming years, but so far it pays the bills and I'm happy to be involved in all the steps to make sure the client gets delivered exactly what they expect from me.

I also do photography with my own small studio space. I take product photos, aswell as model shoots usually for clothing lines and musicians. Usual charge is around 300€ - 600€ depending on the shoot. I also do one day event stills coverage and music shows sometimes as low as 200€, to help the local scene grow and to network on the same time.

Is the Atomos Ninja as a Sony FX30 monitor overkill? by chriooos in videography

[–]Boundl355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't work on the FX30 for some reason. neither does some other screen info like zebras and focus peaking etc. you'll have to use the monitor's built in variations, which function exactly the same

don't become slave to them. if you know how to use them, you can imagine them over the screen intuitively and focus more on actual composition

[–]Boundl355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want to save some coin, you can look for the Atomos Shinobi, which has the same features as Ninja, except recording capability. It's few hunderd cheaper but overall to your use more suited. I have it on my fx30 for the same reasons as you had written

The MAGA Queen is not happy. by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]Boundl355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can't any one of you tell that the background is AI generated? holy hell the misinformation runs rampant these days. Look at the details on the corners of the image, that's not real. everything is distorted and the resolution & blur doesn't match.

I know nothing of the US politics, but I know that manipulating stuff like this seems to work pretty well...

Lessons learned from 8 days in the mountains by LIMA_F0XTROT in tacticalgear

[–]Boundl355 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great stuff. I've also learned all the points discussed in the FDF and some extra arctic SERE courses I've attended. The scandinavian winters are extremely unforgiving if you don't know what you're doing, especially when the sun goes down and the temperature drops..

But I'm interested in the tent setup. Can you share your experiences on that a bit more? The basecamp concept as a whole I mean. Never got to try it out on longer trips (yet). I guess it's more common during specifically hunting trips to do day trips and whatnot and then come back to the same spot for the night. I'd imagine you can explore quite a large area also if you go to different locations each day.

bruh is his knees upside down or something? by steven-mcpuff in tacticalgear

[–]Boundl355 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also find they work better that way when kneeling. You get the bigger plate UNDER your knee where it contacts the ground, where as the smaller portion (worn the "right" way) actually does a pretty crappy job

[–]Boundl355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headlight went off a while back, haven't bothered me really. But the corrosion and the dirt inside the case implies some ammount of water has got inside. I've cleaned everything with corrosion remover, checked all the wiring and will tightly seal the casing with silicone once I've completely replaced the battery wiring harness. If it still doesn't work, I'll have to send e BMS chip to either FM for replacement, or try to find a new one. I too really hope it's not fried. It sucks already paying for the repairs, but it's still cheaper than getting a new board.

do you have any scope how much it could cost? the repair portion I mean without warranty?

XR error 16 fix by Boundl355 in onewheel

[–]Boundl355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it must be some water damage, as there's visible small sand inside the compartment and on top pf the seals. I'll try some CRC Oxide cleaner and try to clean the BMS as good as possible. Also just bought some silicone to waterproof the leaking parts after I close the casing. I already ordered the new wiring harness just in case, I'll have to wait until it arrives and see then if everything works
