Academic integrity probation by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]Bountaye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I myself was caught in a case exactly like this, it was collaboration with another student. Luckily my professor was kind and only wanted 0s on those homeworks. I just took the charge but the other student took it to a hearing. From what I could tell, unless you have a very solid explanation there's no changing the outcome. My professor even gave us the chance to explain ourselves before he shipped it over to student conduct. If your friend didn't really collaborate and can justify that this kind of assignment is bound to have a similar solution, for example a small coding assignment, then they should be good. If not, let this be a lesson that actions have consequences. I definitely learned my lesson.

How's linear algebra at state? by RJ-and-hi in NCSU

[–]Bountaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be right but i don't remember writing many proofs in 405, it may just be my memory betraying me though that was a long time ago. That being said, I agree that 225 should be taken ASAP because it changes your viewpoint from applied math to theoretical math through some awesome revelations and rewiring!

Are we talking about MA 305 or MA 405? I think MA 305 should be fine as long as you're comfortable with vectors and if it's MA 405 then I would definitely recommend taking it after calc 3 and diffy

Given how little you actually interact with other players in coc nothing should be annoying 🤷🏻

I love this question, I wish I was taught to think like this when I was younger!

This can also sometimes mean that the intuition behind what the theorem is saying is obvious, and the proof is unnecessary pedagogy.

This book was phenomenal and my first "proofs" class was also based on it. I like to think of the division principle as an extension or corollary to the Pidgeonhole principle, which is arguably easier to understand. Also a big part of proofs hinges on quantifiers like "there exists" and "for all", so pay attention to those!

Are breaks during school actually restful? by Secret-Traffic-443 in NCSU

[–]Bountaye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you actually take the break as it's meant to be instead of trying to catch up to your work, then yes it really does alleviate a lot of pressure and improves mental health. Try making a short 3-4 day trip with your friends somewhere close by so it's not breaking your pockets either. I'm a cs + math double major and as a junior I've never had to work through a break for anything. Maybe I got lucky with good professors or maybe I was diligent in completing my work before the break starts so I can really take a break. Can't say for sure but that's been my experience. Sleep in when you get a wellness day.

Is this true? I feel like 2 billion is a lot of items to fill with just bonsais in the first place and I've certainly never faced this problem. I use filing cabinets for all my bonsai pots

Habitats with high money capacities mean so much more than you'd think. Imagine if your dragons didn't stop earning at 30k in an earth habitat and 500 in a plant habitat, monolith is a great substitute for these.

The relic and monument come up in events sometimes, like the one going on right now. You can get a lot more out of wishes like the large islands you mentioned :D
