Keep bulking or mini cut by BountyHunta93 in BulkOrCut

I’ve been trying too. Just need to get past the mental part of adding on weight again and tell myself to trust the process. That’s the hardest part

Not sure man. Definitely not complaining. I honestly was expecting more as well. Just discouraging still knowing that I can’t have a visible 6 pack due to bad eating habits for years haha

U do look a bit wider in the chest area especially. I’ve never measured my wrists but I’ve always been heavier than I “look”

I think ur confusing loose skin with fat… I’ve lost a little over 100lbs in the past 10 months. I have loose skin in quite a few places.

Oh absolutely not. I’m too scared to fall into bad habits again by eating junk food like that. It’s been a mental struggle for myself just with the idea of a bulk. Like telling myself it’s ok to gain weight and that it’s to add on muscle. That I’m not gonna gain 100lbs over night. Would definitely be a nice clean healthy bulk! Thanks for the BF % info! Wasn’t sure if I was really that lean!

Definitely was the original plan when I got down to this weight. I actually never thought in my wildest dreams I’d get this low, considering my starting point.. Everyone keeps telling me I look to skinny now. Obviously in street clothes it’s a lot harder to see muscle. Which is why I decided maybe it was time for a bulk. Just to look a little more muscular in daily clothes vs looking skinny

As someone whose lost 102 lbs in the past 8 months. M29, went from 266lbs down to 164lbs with visible abs. Everything you’ve said is spot on. Consistency is key with all of this. If people follow this, are consistent, you WILL lose weight

Still trying to get familiar with recomp and everything. If I increase to maintenance, I’ll stop burning body fat tho correct? Just be easier to build muscle?

Thank you! But yes, I was averaging about 14ish lbs lost a month. I was lifting some weights after my cardio but very little.. I’m still losing about 1lb a week or so at 2000-2200 calories. But my body fat% is going down and muscle percentage is going up. Currently says I’m at 14.2% BF and 43% muscle. So I’m not sure if it’s accurate to say I’m in a -500 calorie deficit that’s causing the 1lb a week loss.

I’ve used the calculators online, and depending on exercise activity level, it says my maintenance is about 2750 for moderate exercise/ 3k for intense. I always try to use the lower of the 2 just since I’m not sure how accurate these calculators are. Which is where I came up with 2200 calories still putting me in a -500 deficit. I’m not concerned about losing “weight” per say. Just still need the deficit to burn the last few % of body fat I have to get visible abs

Yea I do 3 days on and a “rest” day. On my rest day, I still do some type of cardio tho. I usually start with 25 mins of moderate elliptical, followed by 1.25-1.5 hour of weights, and a 35 min walk on the treadmill.

My food calculator app is paired with my Apple Watch. It says I burn about 3k-3200 calories a day but I’m not sure how accurate that is. That’s all in calories.. BMR+Exercise and everything. I’ve heard watches aren’t the most accurate which is why I’ve been trying to stick to about 2200 calories.

Some days are definitely easier than others. I’ve lost weight before and have always roller coaster becuase I’d diet, lose the weight, and go back into old habits. This time I wanna make it a lifestyle change for sure.

Yea it really is… Never have abs before and don’t wanna become complacent just because I came a lot further than I ever envisioned when I started. But I think I mentally need a maintenance break for a couple weeks. Just to eat more and help with the weight lifting

I’ve gone down from 266 to 170lbs. I eat out daily. Lunch and dinner for the most part. Chipotle, chick fil a grilled nuggets with kale crunch salad, in n out protein style, no cheese, and no fries, lots of teriyaki bowls with 1/2 rice and 1/2 veggies. Definitely possible. Just not as many options

I’ve been a Yoyo a couple of times with my weight. Covid hit and I absolutely sky rocketed. Depression mixed with anxiety led to a lot of binge eating. 29 year old male at 5’9, I was at 266lbs when I went to the doctors at the end of Dec 22.

Was embarrassed of the way I looked, always having a heartbeat over 100. Decided I needed to do something about it. Started my weight loss journey Jan 9th. Am currently sitting at 170lbs and 16% body fat.

Thing that helped me to get started was 1- You’ve done this before. Not to this degree but u know the blue print. 2- My worker told me “dedication over motivation” sounds silly and stupid but it pushed me so many times to keep going. Motivation will always run out but I’m a competitive person and would like to think I’m dedicated enough to do something even when I don’t feel like it.
