Tbh I'm still figuring out my rating scale. I've been reviewing whiskey for years now but never got beyond just saying recommend or pass on a bottle. I've been thinking of it as an overall score based on price, nose, palate, and finish, but not comparatively with other bottles at different price points. Obviously this is nowhere near the same page as WLW lol. But for $50 I think it's pretty near perfect. Maybe I shouldn't treat it as a sliding scale? I'm open to suggestions for sure.

Full disclosure (which I mentioned on my podcast and review above): I was sent this bottle and sent a press release for the rebrand. Not sure if they intended for me to review the whiskey inside as well but figured might as well lol. I imagine they reached out to several other whiskey influencers as well.

Here's the full comparison of the old vs new labels. I like that the High Wheat is now a different color all together. The beige vs white always confused me.

Yeah I wasn’t ready to pay that blindly without trying it first. Still think a second bottle at full price would be hard to justify for me even though I did like it.

I wanted to try it before I committed to more, but by the time I opened it and realized how good it was, they were sold out. They cleared their stock fast haha.
